Heartbreaking end for Appalachian State University Field Hockey 🏑 up in Oxford, Ohio.

Miami of Ohio has captured seven straight MAC Championships and if they are going to make it eight, they will have to win three straight games.

The Redhawks punched their ticket 🎟 to the Finals against James Madison University after edging out our App State team 3-2 in Overtime on Thursday afternoon.

The rules in FH OT are noticeably different as the game is played Six on Six instead of the normal Ten on Ten. Miami dominated the extra period from the getgo. Just like that, my 3rd season with ASU comes to end, and like the first two, it ends just shy of the elusive NCAA bid.

These young Ladies come to Boone, North Carolina from around both the Country and the World 🌎. They are true Student Athletes and play hard for their Coaching staff, led by Head Coach Emily Dinsmore.

It’s been an interesting three years and if someone had told me back in 2021 that I would have just spent 2:00:00 glued to a Computer 🖥 screen, watching a Field Hockey while making plans for how to get to Ohio for the Championship game, I would have laughed out loud.

App State University has grown on me, the game has grown on me and without a doubt this dedicated group has certainly grown on me. Sad to see it end but Happy to been there for the ride.

This ends a crazy, crazy stretch that included Junior Varsity Volleyball, Varsity Volleyball, Cross Country, NCAA Field Hockey 🏑 and some State Golf ⛳ mixed in. Then there was the Out of Town Scoreboard, Cavalier Kudos ➕ Special Olympics Basketball 🏀 and Stadium seats 💺.

Staying true to each program until the very end was a Must Do. I believe that we have now truly reached the Finish Line !!

The Ad we put together to say Thank You 🙏 to some folks that have been Blessings across the past four years. I need to add Ron Cochran to the list, while he didn’t fit into any one of the 12 squares, Ron played a huge role across the board 👏.

Have a Blessed Night 🌙!

Thursday November 7th will be about tying up lose ends and App State Field Hockey 🏑🏒 on the Final edition of the Out of Town Scoreboard.

Kalee Bunn and Ferrum Volleyball 🏐 just finished up their regular season matches. The Panthers fell short in the two contests but it was a treat to get to know the Bunn Family 👪.

Madison Stockner and EMU VB also fell short on Wednesday night but have one more match remaining.

Cordy Gardner and her Judson VB team picked up another win and has one more match to play.

Ashlyn Newman and Union University Soccer ⚽️ is ready for their post season run now after finishing up at 9-4-2.

Today, up in Oxford, Ohio…

Trying to keep an eye on former Cavaliers now playing at the next level has been enjoyable. Being able to see Kalee, KK, Madison compete along the way was a Bonus.

This group of successful Student Athletes are examples for our youth to look up to on days when they are struggling to find the balance needed in life nowadays.
