While Carroll County High School has many sports that play half their games / matches on The Hill, others are much less fortunate. Swimming πββοΈ and Cross Country come to mind as those who don’t, with Wrestling next on the list.
This Wednesday Coach Montgomery will be in charge up at Hillsville Elementary School π« and he checked in to inform us of the number of people that will be joining him.

As her parents we are very proud of Arizona in all her accomplishments in life, with sports being a plus. School first with her heading into a career of nursing but still have fun.
Arizona plays volleyball and softball and also enjoys hanging out with friends her boyfriend Klay and riding horses. Arizona’s favorite place to be is the beach soaking up the sun!
Arizona is a team player and is enjoying her first year on Varsity building a strong team defense in the years to come with a such a young team.
As a parent I’ve always told her to put God first in everything she does and she will go far in life!

From Arizona :
I enjoy the game of volleyball and it is a way to get away from stress at school and school work.
I enjoy playing with my teammates and they are very supportive with everything I do.

From Assistant Coach Maleah Neely :
Arizona has been another great addition to the team this year. She has jumped right in and has done whatever is asked of her. Some games her role is to play in the middle opposite of Brooke, some games she goes in as a serving specialist, and other games she is tasked with being positive from the sideline. Whatever we ask her to do, she smiles, says okay, and does it.
Β Β Β That has seemed to be her volleyball career this far though. For Coach Petty, Arizona started as a hitter and then ended the season last year as his libero. She just comes in the gym and does what she is asked to do – no fuss, just work. I have been impressed with her ability to play different positions and how she has embraced being in a utility type of role for us this year.
Β Β I’m not sure what the next game will bring for her position wise, but I do know that whatever it is will be done with a big ol smile on her face.

From Coach Cindy Edwards :
Arizona Thompson is very hard working kid who did not hit any last year on Jv’s. She has improved tremendously this season and hopefully we can work on her vertical this off season and she has done a great job serving.
Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you our #5, Arizona Thompson !
