Words from Mom & Dad for Alyssa :
Alyssa is a prime example of what a teammate should be, whether it be from the side line, or on the court, she is always cheering her team on!
Alyssa is a strong, independent, and caring young lady. She always strives to excel in her academics, as well as on the court. We have truly enjoyed watching her hard work pay off this volleyball season. Alyssa works hard at everything she sets her mind to and pushes herself to improve daily. She loves her family and her family loves her!
God has truly blessed us with the best daughter! Her Dad and I are so very proud of her and all her accomplishment’s!
Thoughts from Alyssa :
I play volleyball for God. Every time I get to step on the court I always take a minute when we are praying before we go out to thank god for the opportunity to be able to play with these girls.
Not only do I get to play on an amazing team but I also get to experience what having an amazing coach feels like. Coach Edwards is a very good coach.
She always pushes me to become better at everything I do and I am very thankful for that. I feel like our team works so well together and we are always supporting each other no matter what the score on the scoreboard says.
Overall, I am so thankful for the opportunity I have been given to play volleyball with such an amazing team and coach.
Thoughts from Assistant Coach Maleah Neely :
Alyssa has been a great addition this year to the varsity team. She has worked hard to make herself more of an offensive threat (and is now capable of breaking a window pane lol).
She is also coming along with her blocking and is working hard to be a bigger presence with her block at the net. I joked with her today that she needs to be Cher from Clueless for Halloween because of the faces that she makes – if you haven’t seen them, you’re missing out. She is hilarious without even trying to be and makes things fun. We are continuing to work with her on moving quicker from side to side and just being more aggressive because she can sometimes go at granny speed. She has made such great progress this year and I’m excited to see how she continues to improve as she goes.
Coach Edwards :
She’s funny π period.
Alyssa will continue to adjust to the varsity level a little bit more as she gains experience. She jumps very well , and its our hope that she gets stronger in the off-season.
Ladies & Gentlemen, I present to you our #2, Alyssa Lawson !
