Emma’s Dad π¨ flirted with hitting the rubberized Softball out of the park and Adam Nester chased Mr. Goins around the bases hard during his 3-run Home Run πββοΈ…
Chef Nester worked the Grill and Velvet Creed Leonard was snapping Photos π· throughout. She sent me a few and I’m sure that she has the full lot of them on display over on Facebook !

The morning π was spent down in Elkins, North Carolina and it will be a story off to itself after some recovery time…
CCHS Softball truly is just a Family πͺ Thing and its a place that both Velvet and I call π π‘…
Her Husband, Chris Leonard was on the disabled list with a Back Injury and Mr Goins might just now be recovering from having Adam chasing him.
But our players Won π 5-5 and that’s what they will remember!

Tonight was our Father π¨ Daughter Game and a fun time was had by All!
Much more on the evening later !

The Hill – Carroll County defeated Glenvar 3-1 Tuesday night in Three Rivers District Volleyball but the evening belonged to local Coaching Legend Rose Houk. The Gymnasium was decked out in Pink for Cancer β Awareness Night and Houk, who is currently battling the disease, had a night she will remember for the rest of her life.
Houk has been around the game of Volleyball π her entire life and the Gymnasium was full of people that she had created memories with over the decades.

Here is the former Galax Coach with two of her life-long friends, Alan Knight on the left and Cindy Edwards on the right.

Here is Coach Houk with the Husband and Wife coaching duo from Glenvar.
Carroll County (10-7, 5-3) started out slowly in the opening set and never recovered. Glenvar raced out to an early lead of 12-5 and never looked back while taking the opening set 25-12.
The Lady π© Cavaliers fell behind 5-1 in the second set and it brought back memories of the first match between the teams last month. CCHS fell behind 2-0 and then stormed back for a 3-2 victory.
Senior Aza Petty pulled the team back to even at 12-12 with a well placed Dink Kill and from that point on the match belonged to the home team. Glenvar did not go quietly in to the night but CCHS was now locked in.
The Lady π© Cavaliers took turns finishing off the passes from Quarter Back Laiken Burnett. Petty, Ali Wright and Alyssa Lawson collected Kills during the close out run πββοΈ with Wright ending the 25-22 set with authority.
Carroll County jumped out to an early 8-3 lead in the third and pushed it to 11-8 when Freshman Raylee Goins finished off a point with a Kill to start an 11-3 run πββοΈ. Wright finished off the set with an apologetic look on her face as her Serve rolled across the top of the net and fell to the floor for a closeout Ace in the 25-12 victory.
Glenvar made a hard charge to square the match in the fourth set until Brooke Webb created some space with back to back Aces following a Burnett QB sneak.
Leading 12-7, the Lady π© Cavaliers closed it out with Callie Harris Digs, Burnett sets, Petty placements and Wright lasers. Webb called Game with her final Kill in the 25-20 closeout.
Carroll County will return to action π¬ Thursday night at Buchanan versus James River High School.
The Junior Varsity team opened the night, falling to the Highlanders 2-0 (25-13, 25-19).
Side Note – will add some more separately on the JV later and mix in some pics from Mrs. Patti Goins.
