Carroll County Enrichment Program !

Carroll County Enrichment Program !
Patrick County, Grayson County , Galax and Carroll County are set to hear the umpire shout Play Ball here in a few hours !
Patrick County vs Grayson County get things started at 6pm with Galax and Carroll County slated to play at approximately 8pm in the night cap.
The age bracket here is 11 & 12 year olds.
Next week the State Tournament is set to get underway for the 15U team which Mr. Reed tells me is comprised of mainly our Junior Varsity Baseball team.
The 15U team captured the runner up team in a Tournament down in Durham, North Carolina this past weekend (NET Elite).
Congratulations 👏👏👏 for the effort down in Durham and best of luck for the older players in the State Tournament and the younger ones tonight.
If there’s anyone that will be out at the Grayson County Rec Park tonight that would like to share photos or scores we would welcome 🙏 it.

Greg and Presley Talley on the left and Mrs. Joanie Thornton Newman on the right.
Nine of the 10 pictures 📷 have found their way to their destination and in each case its been a treat to spend a few minutes with each person ❤.
Christy Ervin will round out the delivery process here shortly.
Once again, special thanks to Greg Talley for reaching out to the Chamber of Commerce in regards to honoring the group at their meeting on July 8th !

Our Kevin Burress is on the job tonight over in Grayson County for a Dixie All-Star showdown that was nearly 90 minutes late getting underway.

” We were nearly an hour and a half late starting. Carroll County All Stars playing Galax. 0 to 0 in the bottom of the 1st as we come for our first plate appearances. “

The young Lady 👩 in the middle of this photo 📷 is one of the ball players that might be up past her normal bedtime 🌙 tonight.
” Going to the top of the 2nd, Carroll is up 4 to 0 !”
The set-up for the picnic started at 3pm and the event officially started at 6pm.
Lucas Dalton blessed the meal that awaited the team and everyone in attendance helped themselves to an enjoyable meal.
Almost 100% retired Darrin Mathews and his beautiful Bride 👰 were part of the crowd and Mrs. Mathews promised she would be able to keep her husband busy with a list of things that filled a page, both front and back.
Emma Harman might have been the absentee player with the most colorful reason as the second baseman is currently performing with the dance 💃 team on a cruise 🛳 ship.
Carlie Beamer and Natalie Burress took home the longest drive 🚗 to attend award as the duo returned from a Church outing up in Roanoke and were headed back afterwards.
Our host and hostess, Coach Nester and Donna headed out to Independence to cheer on the little ones after all the cleanup was complete at the picnic Pavillion.
The evening did also allow the passing out some more of our 10 Fab Four Photos 📷

Mr. Mathews holding his copy and the one being presented to Carroll County High School 🏫

. Velvet Creed Leonard holding her copy of the photo 📷 she was gracious enough to take.

Softballs member of The Fab Four, Emma and Travis Leath.
Then there was this interesting moment steming from realizing that you have found the ultimate Wing Man 👨

Kevin just sent an interesting photo 📷

He calls it a spectator…

If the game ever ends we will post a Final Score. Until then just know that Softball here in Carroll County is just a Family 👪 Thing !
7 to 3 us going to the bottom of the 3rd (10:27 pm)
10:38 – 9 to 3 us going to the top of the 4th. We will play 5 innings
Editing Note :
Just a small correction if I may, this isn’t travel ball, this is Dixie All Stars from Rec ball! Love the article
Carroll County wins in 4 by mercy rule 13 to 3. Great game by the girls with great hitting, pitching and defense!

Almost halfway to getting the 10 enlarged Fab Four Photos 📷 delivered and this one is special. When Kris Richardson and I combined our efforts for just over one year to create our Basketball 🏀 Book 📖 on the Back 2 Back State Championships we invisioned hundreds of people taking the book and going around to collect autographs from the players and Coaches.
The reality is the count stopped at one and that one was Mr. Bill Gallimore ! Kris and I are both very appreciative of Bill because while 1 is a small number, its a World 🌎 apart from ZERO. Now, whether or Bill takes a fine tipped Sharpie and recreates history is up to him but I wouldn’t rule it out.
Six more to pass out and looking forward to each one of them !
