Now that I have safely made it back to Durham, the first thing I want to do is give props to both Darrin Mathews and Velvet Creed Leonard. This duo made our “Photo π· Shoot ” a very enjoyable 45 minutes !
Mr. Mathews gave up some of his down time to allow us to bring our efforts into the Gymnasium. The list of folks that will crack a joke about Darrin being a short timer on The Hill is a long one but at the end of a trying day, our retiring Athletic Director was there for us and we greatly appreciate him for it.
Velvet, captured above directing traffic while holding one of her two cameras π·, was kind enough to find the time in her overly busy day to take a bushel full of photos for us.
We couldn’t have moved forward without these two Stand-up folks and I wanted to make sure to say THANK YOU in writing !!!
We are not going to rush the process as we move forward but I did want to share a few photos from my end that were taken outside of the main shots.
We will close out by adding a Thank You π to the Student Athletes and their Families for also taking the time to carve out the time during a busy, busy weekend.
Our Fab Four :
Ashlyn Newman – All-Time scoring leader in Soccer β½οΈ
Alyssa Ervin – All-Time scoring leader in Basketball π
Jabin Talley – All-Time wins leader in Tennis πΎ
Emma Leath – Holds both the All-Time Pitching victories and Strikeouts.
Hoping everyone has an enjoyable Graduation π weekend !
88% chance of rain π§ at 6pm = 12% chance it will not, right ?
Last night we came up with a back up plan to protect what I have been calling our Mount Rushmore moment and now, sadly it looks like we might have to put said plan to use.
The game versus Radford has to be played because it decides if the Bobcats make the post season. The backup plan for the game is Monday night and we know that Ashlyn Newman will be over in Stuart playing Soccer β½οΈ that evening.
It would appear that Carroll County will land in the #4 spot in Regional play and that would put us at Home next Friday night and then its more than likely that we will be heading over to Staunton River for the semifinals. We will have a chance to do what nobody else has done this year which is beat Staunton River, it just won’t happen at Cavalier Park.
This will leave us next Friday as an option to invite Newman, Talley and Alyssa Ervin to join Emma Leath for a ceremony and first pitch. They will all be invited to do so next week and I hope it works out if it rains π§ today.
Hence, the Photo π· itself will be taken today either way because its simply that important to preserve the four years these tremendous four Student Athletes have given to us.
But, hey, there’s still a 12% percent chance it won’t rain !!!
Other games and matches hanging in the balance are :
CCHS hosting Floyd County in tennis πΎ
CCHS JV Baseball βΎοΈ hosting Alleghany at 5pm for the District Tourney crown π.
