Tonight we celebrated the Four Years gifted us by the amazing Jabin Talley and Emma Leath ❤ !

Emma Leath and Jabin Talley are both in the process of finishing up their respective brilliant stays on The Hill. Both have given our Community a truck load of memories and with the help of Softball Coach Rick Nester we were able to share on thoughts on their efforts in front of our crowd at Cavalier Park.

Jeff Tobler had the honor 🎖 of catching the offering from Leath and Lady Cavaliers catcher Natalie Burress did the same for Talley.

A fun note 📝 to this duo is that their ever so proud Fathers 👨 have a thirty year history with each other. Greg Talley on the left and Travis Leath on the right, taken just pryor to the ceremony.

Both of the Seniors have unfinished business as they prepare for Regional competition in the coming days.

Ladies & Gentlemen, I present to you the All-Time leader in Tennis 🎾 victories and both Pitching victories and Strikeouts !!

Coach Kevin DeHaven and his Cavalier Nine earn a Home Date on Friday after defeating the Bobcats in Radford !

” Varsity baseball won 7-2 in 5 innings.

We finished 15-4 and will host Lord Botetourt Friday at 6:00 in the region quarterfinals.
Owen Ward pitched 4 strong innings. 8 different players had hits.”

Thank You Coach and Congratulations 👏!

Gamechanger…

The news was so good the second half posted twice !

15 – 4, a great regular season 👏

Mr. Bill Gallimore and Softball puzzles ahead of tonight’s game with Radford !

First things first, last night Patrick County defeated Floyd County in the regular season finale for both teams. This allows the Cougars to finish the Three Rivers District season at 9-3.

Carroll County (16-3 overall ) currently sits at 9-2 heading into tonights match-up with Radford (2-9). The Lady 👩 Cavaliers win the regular season outright with a victory tonight over the Bobcats as they would finish up at 10-2.

If CCHS were to lose versus Radford they would drop into a tie 👔 for first place but would win the 👑 based on having swept PCHS in the regular season.

That part I had covered, which why I was able to immediately announce we had won the District as soon as Laynie-Jo Leonard crossed home plate.

Now, let’s take a look at the Regional tournament 👀. Just finished up a fun conversation about this with Mr. Gallimore and here’s what we know for FACTS :

Tomorrow’s play-in games are as follows (7 vs 10) ( 8 vs 9 ). The winner 🏆 of those games moves on to face the two Top Seeds on Friday.

William Byrd vs Tunstall

Pulaski vs Hidden Valley

Not sure which is which both we know those are the games scheduled.

Next up is the two best teams not set to play, meaning they are #1+#2. Those two teams are Christiansburg and Staunton River. They await the play-in winners.

Next Fact – Bassett (1-19) and Northside (4-19) are the teams on the outside looking in. The Vikings went from State Champs 🏆 to a four win season.

That leaves us the four teams in the middle – Carroll County (16-3, 9-2) is set to host Lord Botetourt (12-9, 8-3) and Cave Spring (15-5, 9-3) is set to host Abingdon (12-8, 8-4).

This group includes 3 vs 6 and 4 vs 5 but we just aren’t sure which is which?

Someone out there knows the answer and maybe 👀 they’ll tell us but either way I spent 22 quality minutes working on it with Bill and that makes it a Great Day !

Tonight at Cavalier Park we will Celebrate two of our Fab Four Senior record holders ! Emma Leath and Jabin Talley are set to throw out First Pitches…

While we will miss out on two of our group due to a Awards Banquet taking place it Mount Airy tonight, we are still very excited to show our appreciation for the duo that can make it to the Park !

Last night, up in Cave Spring, Jabin Talley earned his 72nd victory as a Carroll County High School Cavalier. This mark is now to gold standard for future players to chase and it will grow next week when the Regional tournament continues.

Emma Leath has just completed the task of chasing down former Cavs great, Sydney Nester, in both career Wins and career Strike Outs.

The current numbers are at 60 & 702 and will grow some tonight and then again on Friday when the Lady Cavs open regional play by hosting Lord Botetourt in the #4 & #5 match up.

Friday is all but guaranteed to be our final appearance at Cavalier Park. A victory over LBHS will extend the season but Head Coach Rick Nester and the team will become Road Warriors after Friday.

In regards to Fridays game, we have extended the invite to our other two members of the Record Holders Club- Ashlyn Newman and Alyssa Ervin to join us that night as well. Ervin will be out of town on Friday but we still have hopes that Newman can stop ✋ by so we can acknowledge her career.

Once again on Friday we have extended an invite to all of the members of the Shawn Montgomery Track and Field team that has qualified for the State Meet to join us prior to the contest with LBHS.

Right now we have three people in that category but their Regional meet is set for Thursday in Abingdon so that number can still grow.

Two more times remain to join us at Cavalier Park this season for exciting Lady 👩 Cavs Softball !
