We had a Celebrity selling tickets 🎟 and the JV Softball almost pulled out a Win to remember..

Last week our JV Softball team had a rough go of it over in Independence, falling my double digits to the home standing Lady Blue Devils. This time around the contest was held at Cavalier Park and the Lady πŸ‘© Cavaliers pushed their guests to the brink before falling 8-7.

Carroll County struck first in the bottom of the first inning. Laynie-Jo Leonard walked with one out and came around to score on a RBI single from Bayliegh Allen.

GCHS would plate the next four runs in the game and carried a 4-1 lead into the bottom of the fourth inning. Arizona Thompson led off with a single and came around to score on a base hit by Ashton Rodrigue to trim the lead to 4-2.

Grayson County answered quickly with a four run rally in the fifth inning to push the lead to 8-2 and seemingly closed the door πŸšͺ on the Lady πŸ‘© Cavaliers. But this time Head Coach Alexis Dalton’s team bounced back.

Allen would score two late runs while Thompson touched home plate a total of three times and before the dust settled it was now 8-7 with the tying run on second base with just one out in the home half of the seventh inning.

The Lady Blue Devils were able to record the final two outs, leaving Zoey Gwynn stranded on second base. While the team ended up on the wrong end of the final score, Carroll County gave everything that they had Monday afternoon.

Grayson County 030 140 0 -8

Carroll County 100. 120 3 -7

Allen led the offense attack with 3 base hits and one hit by pitch.

Kenzey McMillian and Rodrigue each added two hits in addition to Thompson scoring three times.
