Varsity Softball scrimmage moved up four days – play ball is now set for Monday afternoon!

George Wythe High School 🏫 was originally set to drive 🚗 down to The Hill on Friday for the first of two scrimmages for our Lady Cavaliers 👩 softball team but there has been a change in the date 📅.

Tomorrow (Monday) afternoon at 5pm is the new time and date for the scrimmage. As of now the remainder of the schedule is still the same, with the home opener being set for Tuesday March 12th.

We have made the transition from selling 50/50 tickets 🎟 to kicking up dirt on the diamond 💎!

Kevin Burress checks ✔ in from the Gymnasium in Radford with some Little Hoopsters !

We are in Radford today with the 4th grade AAU team.

We lost the first game 12 to 8. The girls played hard and are getting better every time they step on the court.

We play again at 230ish.

Getting ready for game 2

We dropped game 2 11 to 0. Tough game for us. The girls played well defensively but couldn’t get their shots to fall. Really tough and physical on defense! We play again at 520.

We lost game 3 14 to 0. Another tough game for our girls. We will be back at it next weekend in Radford again.

Boys Class 3 Semi-final had a distinct Region 3D feel to it as the two teams that finished higher than CCHS duked it out for a shot at the Lake Taylor Titans.

Our Kris Richardson made the trek up to Roanoke College last night to watch the #1 & #2 teams from our always tough Boys 👦 Basketball 🏀 region battle one more time.

Northside held off the Trojans late and will now advance to face the Titans. Lake Taylor High School 🏫 brings back a smile because close to 50 years ago it was set to be my high school before we moved across town.

As you can see above, Northside had to get past Tunstall twice in the post season with both contests ending with a single digit margin.

Congratulations to Tunstall on a great season 👏 and best of luck to the Vikings in the State Finals.
