Tomorrow morning π the group that I like to call the Jabin Talley Fan Club is accompanying Jabin down to the campus of Southwest Virginia Community College. Jabin will sign his letter of intent as well as register for his first set of classes.
I think the percentage of high school Student – Athletes that make it to College as Student Athletes sits at 7%. Tomorrow is a Big Day for the extended Family πͺ and we will do our best to capture and frame the day to the best of our ability.
We head out bright & early so there’s probably time for maybe 1 more story tonight.
Maybe we will lucky enough to run across Macie Adkins during our time there…..
Congratulations π to Jabin & his Fan Club ! See you in the morning π
Seven of our 11 Spring teams have their season debuts Tuesday and while we will do our best to provide some level of coverage for the other six, my focus will be entertaining the folks that attend Cavalier Park for the Varsity Softball game.
We have so many things to celebrate tomorrow evening that its hard to list the all. Emma Leath is back for her senior season and she will be surrounded by a combination of familiar faces and young ladies making their Varsity debut.
Jeff Tobler will once again be at Coach Nester’s side and up in the press box π¦ will be Kevin Burress, Tammy Tobler and myself. We will be doing our best to keep everyone informed and entertained.
The folks in the Concession Stand will be in mid-season form and the Omega Foul Ball contest will offer two prizes for the lucky winner π this season.
We strive to make being at Cavalier Park so fun that it will make others want to cross the Street ! We have a Top-Shelf Coaching staff, 12 wonderful ball players and some loving & supporting Parents.
Our players π to play for Coach Nester, π their teammates, π their walk πΆββοΈ up music πΆ and love to play in front of a crowd.
Tomorrow we will also be welcoming two wonderful Ladies from Skyline Bank π¦ that helped make the new scoreboard possible. They will be tossing out the first pitch at 4:45.
7 season openers tomorrow and one will try to wrap a little extra around it in hopes of creating an atmosphere for our 12 hard working πͺ ladies !
The morning started out right here in the parking lot or technically across the lot at Maples Restaurant as we work out the next round of details for our Banquet on the 23rd.
We are very proud of being able to call Laurel Fork our π‘ so we are overly excited about hosting our Annual event right here in our little Village!!
For anyone that has an interest in learning more about who we are and what we do but didn’t end up with a ticket please check out the live feed that Marion Harris will provide through Facebook, from start to finish.
Next thing we ask is if your name has appeared on one of the 13 guest lists and something has come up that will prevent you from attending, PLEASE let π your Table Master or myself know. We still have a handful of people that we could sneak into an empty chair πΊ if that’s the case.
Next note π – I want to acknowledge a few people that we would have loved to have had with us but they will be out of town .
Tammy Quesenberry , Shawn Montgomery, Shelia Harris and the Coaching staff at West Virginia Tech Golden Bears π» Baseball βΎοΈ Program. Glenn Burnett is another that we will miss being a part of the program. The Reeds will be out of the Country.
Tammy and Shelia will be in Tennessee with Volleyball π, Coach Montgomery has a track π£ meet in North Carolina while our baseball team will be playing in Ohio that day. Each of you will be missed.
Each of the 13 Table Masters have a “special ” π coming to them and we are excited to share with them ! We are hoping to create a few Kodak moments.
People that will be speaking include Mr. Chuck Thompson, Mr. Chris Mabry, Mr. Hagen Giles, Mr. Marion Harris, Miss Ashton Richardson plus a host of others
We will be opening the doors πͺ at 3pm with the hopes of starting the event at 4:00pm sharp. The entertainment / program will run πββοΈ until 7:00pm sharp, with dinner π½ coming just before the mid-point.
Mr. Kris Richardson has agreed to be the Co-host for the event and that will excite some folks more than others. If you’re a fan of Kris – bonus for you!!
Some of the people that we will be honoring in addition to our 13 Table Masters are Darrin Mathews, Ben Tickle and Rick Nester β a host of others.
We all spend a great deal of time at ballparks or gyms to we are encouraging folks to take the time to dress up for the occasion but at the same time nobody will be turned away if they choose to dress more casual.
If anyone out there with an invite that still has a question, PLEASE ask either me or your host.
