What happens when it rains 🌧 during a spring day ? Eleven teams begin a mad scramble for a safe and dry place to practice. Obviously some sports can practice easier indoors than others can, due to the nature of the activity.
At 4:30 the Boys 👦 Soccer ⚽️ team would appear to be holding court in the Gymnasium while it would appear that our Drama Club is practicing in the Concession Stand area.

Now that the Softball teams have returned from their respective practice spots it is now time for a High School right of passage. Uniform Day is a Big Deal on a number of levels. Some are getting their first ever jerseys while others are now veterans at this.

Each of the Junior Varsity Girls 👧 and Varsity Girls 👧 are being matched up with the proper sizes and then numbers.
Grey pants 👖, Blue pants 👖➕ the Tops to match and then the jackets. A great deal of effort goes into the process for the two dozen plus Ladies who will be wearing the colors for the Lady 👩 Cavaliers this spring.
Once each of the Varsity and JV players are properly fitted for the season the attention then gets turned to making sure the 8th Grade/ Middle School team has everything they need for their season.
Mr. Jake Beamer is in charge this season along with his volunteers. The Middle School 🏫 is completely responsible for their uniforms and accessories.
Each of the young Ladies appeared excited about the process, whether they were going through it for the first time or have been there before.
How many years of practice ? How many years of Travel Ball ? How many years of lugging around a Bag 🎒 with all of your gear in it ?
These 24 young ladies (and their parents) have waited for a long time for a High School 🏫 Coach to point to them and say, “Here’s your jersey, wear it proudly.”
Tomorrow afternoon Mr. Craig Worrell will be here on The Hill and he will crush the assignment of capturing these 24 Ladies with his Camera 📷. The team pictures will be nothing less than magnificent and when we all see them afterwards we should take just a brief moment and think about the years of effort and sacrifice that each one put into getting to pose for a Photo 📷 with their Sisters.
As far as the Coaching Staff on today and tomorrow…..
All in a days work….

This photo doesn’t necessarily fit the story but couldn’t pass it up.

As far as the finished product we have Holly Miller and Brooke Webb to model the new to some but familiar to others look.

Thank You Ladies, Thank You Coaches and one day early, Thank You Craig Worrell !

As of now the Junior Varsity Girls are set to travel up to Tazewell on Saturday for a day long jamboree but the amount of rain 🌧 that falls between now and then might play a role in that.
The Varsity Girls are set to open at home 🏡 on The Hill Tuesday at 5pm versus Bassett. Both teams will continue to stay busy all week as Glenvar and Pulaski County are both waiting in the wings. The Varsity team will then head up to Tazewell for their jamboree next Saturday.
