George Wythe has made it to The Hill ! Let’s Play (Soft) Ball ▶️

Agony is being next to one of these and knowing that you won’t be using it.

The list of things you don’t do at a scrimmage is announce anything at all. You also don’t use the scoreboard for keeping score.

Tonight Mr. Kevin Burress is learning how to work our new scoreboard

We have to practice upstairs as well.

We are now 15 minutes away from getting underway. Our JV is finishing up practice as well, ahead of their upcoming scrimmage.

The internet is very hit and miss so the bulk of the photos 📷 will come later on.

We ended up playing 8 full innings with GWHS. All four of our pitchers took a turn inside the Circle 🔵.

The evening gave Coach Nester and his staff an opportunity to see a number of players in a number of situations. It also gave Kevin a chance to learn how to operate the control panel for the new scoreboard.

The Lady 👩 Cavaliers hit the ground running 🏃‍♂️ next week, beginning with the Home opener next Tuesday versus Bassett at 5pm

Scrimmage, we’re talking 👄 about Scrimmage… Softball is set to hit the Diamond 💎 later tonight !

George Wythe is traveling down to The Hill after school 🏫 today for a Softball scrimmage at 5pm!

Cavalier Park is ready for our team to face some opposition and it will give a scoreboard operator time to practice on the new setup.

With a scrimmage, versus a game, there are does and don’ts and it takes a few minutes to get comfortable with everything.

One of the differences is that we are not allowed 🚫 to announce the players when they are at the plate. But we have a very, very young team after graduating eight Seniors so one thing that Coach Nester will work on is getting our team familiar with Game Time situations.

There will be more music 🎶 and less talking ➕ plenty of Softball awaiting folks tonight at 5pm !
