Still a good bit of swimming to go, but it’s been a great day so far for the swim program.
We’re missing four swimmers, so we’re even more excited about these numbers as it shows that several swimmers are stepping up to the plate to fill in the gaps.
Back at it. Men’s 200 Relay with Elijah Willis off the blocks in lane three.
Second half of the meet is backstroke and breaststroke. Wyatt Ogle in lane two for a second place with a new PR.
Another Update…

Safe Travels back up the Highway !
Cavs finished 4th overall while competing without four swimmers.
Galax Girls win , Cavs finish 10th
If Katelyn and Maggie Manning had been able to swim, we most likely would have been 3rd overall.
38 to tie, 39 to break heading into the trip to James River High School on Monday evening !
While I have plenty of Basketball photos of this young Lady 👩, I think this one is my favorite one of Alyssa Ervin. The one with her Mom 👩 and younger brother is the one I am referring to. I will add some others as I go along
It’s not everyday that a High School has a changing of the guard at the Top of the All-Time scoring board but its about to happen here on The Hill.
We will call these three Photos as a Mother’s Love 💘

Alyssa Ervin is on the brink of breaking the Carroll County High School 🏫 scoring record currently held by Erin Gibson.
There’s a decent chance that the mark would have already fallen if not for some one sided games that forced Head Coach Marc Motley to sit her down early.
The Lady 👩 Cavaliers take to the road Monday night, playing in Buchanan at James River High School and then return home on Wednesday night. Friday night is at home and then its Saturday in Salem. Four games in six days equals it going to happen this week.
Having the opportunity to watch Alyssa play both Volleyball and Basketball the past few years has been a pure joy. Getting to roll through her name with a 🎤🎙🎤 is a memory I will hold onto.
I have also spent time with an impressive group of Coaches that played a roll in her development. Kris Richardson, Gary Hagee, Kayla Nester, Brandi Cochran – Mitchell, Marc Motley. I even traveled over to Kentucky to get to meet up with her Travel Coach, Ed Robtison.
I was reading through our Basketball book and it appears that it was Marion Harris that discovered Alyssa so many years ago.
The beauty of the moment is that we all get to share in the joy when our Once in a Generation crosses the Finish Line. I am not sure which day it will happen, nobody does, especially with her ability to score at will but I know that my new friend Bill Gallimore will be there with his wife and the smile on his face will tell the story.
Alyssa, let me be the first to say Thank You for letting me take a little portion of the ride with you. Already looking forward to your next chapter down at Elon University.
Mr. & Mrs. Ervin – thank 🙏 you for raising such an Amazing young Lady and your willingness to share her with our Community.
Volleyball Alyssa was a treat because it allowed her to smile from time to time while she played that game at a pretty high level as well. Basketball Alyssa is driven, driven in a manner that most folks can’t relate to.
We should all be able to celebrate your Big Moment with you whether it happens in Buchanan, on The Hill or in Salem !
Congratulations on your next achievement and I know that my friend Allen Worrell will tell the story well !
I will add one more that shows what life is like at times.
Add in the opposing Coach telling the fifth defensive player you see to not give her so much space.
Erin Gibson is on a list of people that I hope to get to meet some day. I have heard a great deal about her and for her to comment on the feed makes me even more excited about our paths crossing some day.
