First the Fun Version of the Story and then the Gamer

Head Coach Anthony Barnes and Assistant Coach Kris Richardson are currently in Year Four at the helm of the Boys 👦 Basketball 🏀 program and this season has been a year of Firsts ! Pretty sure that the Wednesday night 🌙 victory over Floyd County was a SPECIAL time for the Coaching Duo, eliminating the goose egg 🥚 in the series after the Buffaloes captured the first six contests.

Richardson was quick to point out before the trip over that each of the three previous games had been highly competitive between the rivals.

Now sitting at 12-1, with wins over Radford, Glenvar, Narrows and Floyd County among others, the team will get one night 🌙 off before heading over to Patrick County for a Varsity only match-up on Friday.

Not that it’s a Revenge Tour but it has to feel great to break through against some of the High End schools in our District.

Please remember that the Radford game at the Fort Chiswell event doesn’t count in the District Standings but the game versus Alleghany in the Floyd County does. This leaves the team 4-1 in the League with Patrick County and Radford yet to play but finished with Alleghany for the regular season.

Still one more story to follow, the actual Game story. Then tomorrow night 🌙 it will be the Girls 👧 turn at Floyd County.

Thank You to Greg Talley and Russell Smoot for their assistance 🙏 tonight!

Jason Stockner and Ryan Largen find success at Floyd County, 62-48

Before Varsity took the floor for their victory, the Junior Varsity team took care of business with a 62-48 victory of their own !

Coach Stockner checked in with his thoughts on the game…

” The guys withstood their pressure and made big shots. Big win for us!”

 Big win indeed !!

Four Cavaliers finished the night 🌙 in double figures.

Hayden Jackson led the attack with 17 points, including eight in the fourth quarter. Blake Reed netted 16 points and Colton Gravely (13 points) plus Dane Leonard (12 points) gave the team four double figure scorers in one night!!! Kyle Bunn and Landen Phillips rounded out the scoring with two points apiece.

Congratulations 👏👏👏 to our Coaches and Players !!!

So much to get to before the end of the Night 🌙, so let’s start with My Camera 📷, From the Hill

It was a treat to try to add some Sound to the Wrestling match…

Two familiar faces were a big part of the evening. Allen Worrell was in the building and will provide a Gamer about the evening and Mr. Ben Tickle is so supportive of CCHS Wrestling!

Next Wednesday is set to be Senior Night 🌙 for the Wrestling team. Grayson County and Galax will be the visitors next week.
