The JV girls jumped out to an early 6 to 0 lead before Galax scored their 1st bucket which was a 3. Kayla Young started the scoring quick for the Cavs scoring the first 6 points. The Lady Cavs never trailed in this game although they did allow Galax to make it interesting just before halftime going into the half with the Lady Cavs leading, but not comfortably. The 2nd half was all Cavs. With a stifling defense and finding more of a groove offensively the Cavs were able to pull away for a final of 43 to 21 Lady Cavs. A lot of contributions were made offensively with Raylee Goins, Kayla Young, Kenzey McMillian, Kenzie Young, Natalie Burress, Faith Clontz, Laynie-Jo Leonard all scoring. The girls will have their home opener with Pulaski Friday night at the Carroll County High School.
The power π involved in doing something for others can be truly uplifting π ! Two couples π took on the task of giving the Snack Bar / Concession Stand a face lift and they teamed up to hit a Home Run. Mr. & Mrs DeHaven along with Mr & Mrs Reed teamed up to get the job completed and were still smiling π after the fact.
Samantha did mention that the size of the project when its time to overhaul the one at the Football field will take much more than the Fantastic Four involved in the project.
When I asked about the division β of responsibilities on this one I was shown this photo π·
It was labeled “Supervisors”
Thank You to these four folks that gave of themselves for the betterment of others – kinda feels like a OneofUs.Care thought process!
Head Coach West Long is ready to take his first steps πΆββοΈ in his unique 18 year plan for his Wrestling program!
Radford and Floyd County are both in the Gymnasium tonight to challenge our Cavaliers. Trying to find the best way to frame the evening and I think the answer is to use a time-line format.
5:45 – Radford is currently using the mat to warm up for their first match
Its worth mentioning that this will be my first attempt at covering a three team meet from start to finish so it will be an adventure to decide what all is relevant and what is not.
One thing is for sure, these young Student Athletes work as hard as anyone wearing our colors. Knowing that, we will do our best to shine a light on them whenever we can.
It appears that Floyd County will be the Home π‘ team for the opening match with Radford providing the competition. This will mean that Carroll County competes in the second and third matches.
