Greetings from Elliston, Virginia as our JV & Varsity Boys 👦 Basketball 🏀 teams are preparing for a second scrimmage!

Last night 🌙 it was the Girls 👧 teams playing in our Gymnasium and tomorrow night 🌙 it will be the Wrestling team on the Hill but tonight is all about Boys 👦 Hoops.

Quick recap from last night 🌙 – Kayla Young led a stifling JV defensive effort in Kayla Nester’s 50-18 victory over visiting Eastside High School 🏫. Young finished with an unofficial game high 20 points and Raylee Goins added 9 with Ashlyn Martin and Kenzie McMillan both adding 6.

Defensively all nine of the Lady 👩 Cavaliers smothered the visiting Spartans, holding them to 5,4,6 and 3 points in the seven minute quarters.

In the Varsity game a pair of teams that both made it to the Siegal Center at the end of last season tangled for 32 minutes and then played an additional eight minutes for good measure. Carroll County finished registration with a 77-55 victory over the Class 1 State runner up.

Elon bound Alyssa Ervin netted an unofficial 41 points and was joined in double figures by Katie Lam. Lam connected on four three pointers to finish with 12 on the night 🌙.

Marion Harris was still in the building for the extra eight minutes and reported that the visitors won the bonus frame 7-2.

A number of underclassmen made their Varsity debut, including Callie Harris, Laiken Burnett, Bailey Allen, Corrie Delp, Savannah Swecker and Casey Young. Amie Delp was also on the bench but not dressed out due to an injury.

Our Bus 🚌 will be arriving shortly and we will be heading inside !

Fun note 📝 – for the second time in the three year run 🏃‍♂️ the streak has reached 100 Days !
