Kris Richardson is set to lead a group of young Ladies on the Basketball 🏀 Court here in Carroll County again and one can quickly flash back to the last time that Coach Richardson teamed up with one of his Daughters for a run 🏃♂️ through a cycle of AAU Hoops.
Last time around it was the families oldest child, Ashton and this time it will be the youngest, Gracie. Last time the run was the Gateway to Back 2 Back State Championships for Carroll County High School 🏫! This time there’s a one year head start as its a Second Grade team that is starting out.
Being positive is Free and mostly fun so let’s dare to dream about what things could possibly look like in the year 2033-2034????
First question is what might the price of admission to the games be?
Second – will we have jet packs to take to the State Tournament ?
Will Marc Motley still be coaching the Lady 👩 Cavaliers ? Or will Brandi have taken over the Varsity program ?
Will Allen Worrell still be the one inking the stories of the team for The Carroll News ? Will there still be such a thing as the Carroll News ?
Will the players all have High School N.I.L deals that include use of Flying Cars 🚗 ?
How about the cost of Gasoline ⛽ 10 years from now ?
Huey Lewis and Marty McFly talked and sang about Lightning 🌩 Doesn’t Strike Twice in the Movie Classic – “Back to the Future” but I will say this about Coach Richardson and his follow up Band of Hoopsters – I won’t be betting against them !!!
Maybe by the year 2034 reliable Internet service will have reached Laurel Fork ! I wasn’t around the first time that a dedicated group of young Ladies gathered around Coach Richardson and Coach Hagee and took everyone on an incredible journey. This time I have a chance to experience it from the beginning!
After the team wins their first State Championship game we will Celebrate by taking them to a nearby WNBA Basketball game 🏀 to watch Alyssa Ervin play for the Las Vegas Aces.

The current number of teams set to compete on Saturday is five and the Cobras are set to begin play at 11am.
The AAU group out of Galax is just one of three teams that Gracie will be spending time on the Court with this Fall and Winter, including a Second Grade team to be Coached by her Father 👨, Kris Richardson.
