Coach Shawn Montgomery walks πΆββοΈ us through what his Runners πββοΈ will be facing today.
Alternate Race. 12:20
Girls Championship 1:00
Boys Championship 1:45
Everyone gets to compete.
Top 7 boys race in the Region Championship Race. The 8, 9, and 10 seed race in the alternate race. All girls race in Championship Race since there is only 3. If someone gets hurt or sick, one of the alternates could race in the Championship.

The original schedule π had one change as one of the Dobson events was scratched and replaced by a second Home π‘ meet.
Saturday November 11th is the State Meet if any of the Cavaliers were to qualify for it today !
I have been fortunate enough to have attended five of the first 10 meets and still appreciate the atmosphere that these events create. Using today for an example –

The Student Athletes will board a School π« Bus π which today will be driven by Mr. Delp, departing at 9:45. They will then ride for roughly 90+ minutes and once they arrive they will start their warm up routines.
The three races π will take place one right after another which translates into either a long wait before you finally run πββοΈ or a shorter wait before you start and longer wait once you have finished competing.
Either way after the event concludes all 13 Runners πββοΈ will hop back on the Bus π in search of Hot Food , heat and a safe ride back to Campus.

Let’s not forget the Mother Nature aspect of the Day as the above chart shows expected temperatures in between 36 & 41. π₯Άπ§βοΈ.
By comparison when we last headed down to Sugar Hollow Park (exactly 2 weeks ago) it was 65Β° and Sunny. Our runners πββοΈ will be familiar with the trail but not the conditions.
The level of dedication for ALL Student Athletes is commendable but when you factor in that their event is without a doubt the most difficult to watch because of the length of the course their on that day = minimal attendance outside of Family πͺ.
Minimal coverage from the media for all the same reasons – extremely difficult to cover live other than seeing them start and give or take 30 minutes later finish their efforts at the same spot.
Dedicated is spelled with a CAP D ![
Here’s wishing nothing but the Best for Mr. Delp, Coach Montgomery and all 13 of his Student Athletes today !!!
