Everyone will remember their First and Tonight was just that for me as my First College Senior Day took place for one of our own – Ms. Adrienne Harris

Emory and Henry’s Women’s Soccer ⚽️ program celebrated Senior Day for 2023 – 2034 and the Ceremony included Carroll County’s very own Adrienne Harris !

When you have had the opportunity to meet this rather impressive young Lady its hard to pick the most impressive thing about the oldest of Shelia and Marion’s three Daughters.

Tonight I will start with the first thing that jumps off the page to me : the Love and Attention she pays to both of her younger siblings, Natalie and Callie. This was never more evident then the day that Natalie was committing to play Volleyball 🏐 for the Wasps.

Mom πŸ‘© and Dad πŸ‘¨ share their take on the Big Day !

The next thing that jumps off the page about Adrienne is her future plans after graduation from E & H here in a few more months. The goal is to return to Carroll County to teach at one of the Elementary Schools as possibly get into Coaching, either Soccer ⚽️ or Volleyball 🏐.

Yes, the Wasps took care of business πŸ‘ tonight in a big way, including 2 goals and 1 assist from our Guest of Honor πŸŽ–.

The third thing is also the one that made the Day / Evening so special tonight is the value of Family πŸ‘ͺ. We are going to give a shout out to the current Carroll County Volleyball 🏐 team as they agreed to a 6am practice today after defeating Radford Tuesday night, freeing up Callie to join Mom & Dad for the drive πŸš— down ahead of the 4:30 start time. Everything about the Harris Family πŸ‘ͺ screams Family so it was very fitting that they were all able to share in the Big Day

Not that we need to keep going but its hard to not want to mention the level of commitment to the Fellowship of Christian Athletes ✝️ displayed over the years.

This amazing πŸ‘ young Lady πŸ‘© checks all of the Boxes and then when you add that she wants to return to her Hometown to spend her life furthering the education of others it makes her Next Level.

My very first Carroll County High School 🏫 College Senior will be an easy one to remember for a number of reasons !

Congratulations Adrienne πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

Coaching Philosophy

β€œProvide the Athlete an opportunity to be successful in high level athletics, while becoming positive members of the community, the school, and the team.”

Success to me can be defined as, the athletes will be better at the end of the season than they were at the beginning. This will be achieved by being fundamentally sound, while being mentally strong, and simply working hard.

Program Goals

  1. State Titles (A) Team Titles (B) Individual Titles
  1. Academics (A) Collective GPA
  1. Community Service (A ) Volunteering (B) Planned Events

Team Rules

  1. Time lost will be made up.
  2. Zero Tolerance for discriminating against another person or group.
  3. Standards of academics will be upheld.

. We are looking forward to assisting our Wrestling Coach and his Squad !

Tying some Aaron Sorkin in with some Taylor Swift – Glenvar, Look what you made me do ! After an all night drive and Nap process Kris Richardson and I personally handed 44 of the 50 Gifted Books out this afternoon and evening !!

We had a plan to leisurely pass out our Books πŸ“š all day on Thursday before I leave town to go to Boone and Louisville for the weekend. Carroll County defeated Radford last night and afterwards we headed back to Laurel Fork thinking we were done for the night πŸŒ™.

Then the official word came through that for the second time inside of a week Glenvar had defeated regular season Champion Alleghany.

Quick Math told me that our wide open window on Thursday just got slammed shut as now there was a Volleyball 🏐 Match to announce on Thursday in the Carroll County Gymnasium.

Quickly throw the shoes back on and head up the Interstate in the direction of Harrisonburg. A quick nap while waiting for the shop to open at 8am. Snag #2 – the special ordered Books πŸ“š for the players and coaches would be ready for another three hours = more Car πŸš— rest. Getting the Goods back to Carroll County wasn’t the surprise because I have spent my life pushing the envelope. The surprise came later when Amazingly we were able to gift 🎁 44 of the 50 copies inside of a four hour window Down on Main Street. I finally met Howard Mayo and shared a laugh with Craig Worrell about how when we were speaking in the gym after the match I hadn’t mentioned the gathering to him then. With a straight face I was able to say that the plan didn’t exist 24 hours earlier!

Ron Cochran was a gracious host until closing time and then we headed next door to Pizza πŸ• Perfect. What a wild 24 hours and yes I’m possibly the only person that wasn’t thrilled to here about Glenvar but us taking a bullet kept everyone else in the Cavalier Gym tomorrow night.

What a terrific time this evening with Kris and all of the appreciative folks we met with. One year from start to finish but hopefully πŸ™ we have created something that will last for 50+ years !

Three more stories are in the shoot and I will make sure each of them get their proper due here in a bit

Adrienne Harris celebrated Senior Day down at Emory and Henry. Our new Wrestling Coach shares some insight about his plans and there was a JV Football 🏈 game tonight.

Special Thank You to Coach Nester for picking up Linda from the Doctors office 🏒 so I could make it to Ron’s on time.
