One of Laurel Fork’s Finest has Dual Citizenship ! Sherry keeps thing going at Olde Mill but her Heart ❤ (& House) is in Floyd County. This year we can add the Lady Buffaloes JV Volleyball 🏐 team to her list of passions

5:30 is the start time for the JV Match and then the Senior Night festivities before the Varsity match with visiting Alleghany High School 🏫.

Time to go inside and Cheer on the JV team and their Coach!

Two more notes 📝 ahead of the match – It’s Senior Night for Floyd County and if the Lady 👩 Buffaloes could pull of the Varsity upset it would keep Carroll County alive for half of the regular season Title. An Alleghany victory seals the deal for the newly formed Cougars.

Let the JV Match begin !

Alleghany hosted Carroll County on their Senior Night 🌙 and made it a point to include the Cavaliers Seniors as part of the Ceremony. Classy Act!

Fast forward to Carroll County and their Senior Night 🌙 when they hosted Floyd County. The Lady Buffaloes received Gift 🎁 Bags 🎒 and were acknowledged by Carroll County that evening.

Tonight Floyd County brought it Full Circle 🔵 by doing the same for the Alleghany Seniors!

A kind thing to do with minimal cost…. something that should be part of things going forward……

Good Night 😴 from Floyd…..

Two important updates – one for Volleyball 🏐 and one for Cross Country.

Sugar Hollow Park in Bristol. It is hosted by Abingdon High School. – At the beginning of the year there was a question about this Wednesday in regards to which direction they would be heading for their next meet. Coach Montgomery let’s us know that the answer is Bristol with a meet hosted by Abingdon High School 🏫.

The second note 📝 comes from Coach Kevin DeHaven in regards to the District Volleyball tournament next week. The District site had Wednesday and Thursday listed but now we know its the normal Tuesday and Thursday.

Thanks to both of the gentlemen for taking the time to check in ! Greatly Appreciated….

Three Rivers District Volleyball 🏐 heads into the Final week with 3 spots in the Standings still very much in doubt (2nd,4th and 6th). District tournament set for next week.

Alleghany 9-1, Carroll County 8-3, Radford 7-3, James River 5-5, Glenvar 5-5, Floyd County 1-9, Patrick County 1-10.

_____________________________

Matches remaining this week :

Monday – Alleghany @ Floyd

Tuesday – Floyd @ Radford, Alleghany @ Glenvar and James River @ Patrick County

Thursday – Carroll County @ Radford, James River @ Glenvar

____________________________________

Alleghany clinches the Top Spot by winning either one of their two final matches and is set to host the #4 team next Wednesday 10/24

Carroll County will also host next Wednesday 10/25 if they defeat the Bobcats on Thursday night. If the Bobcats win they will host the Lady 👩 Cavaliers by virtue of a sweep.

Patrick County and Floyd County split their season series for their lone District victory and figure to finish tied for 6th place, baring a late season upset.

The tussle between Glenvar and a suddenly Red-Hot James River squad promises to be fun right down to the wire. Both teams are 5-5 and play each other on the last night 🌙 of the season at Glenvar. James River plays at Patrick County first while Glenvar hosts Alleghany.

Glenvar defeated James River 3-1 back on September 26th but since that match only Alleghany has bested the Knights and that took five sets. If Glenvar wins they earn the #4 seed and will play in the tournament next week at Alleghany. If James River wins after handling Patrick County they earn the right to face the AHS Cougars.

The dates of Tuesday10/24 & Thursday 10/26 per Coach DeHaven !

Lite week for Carroll County Sports as Football has a bye, Volleyball 🏐 has one match each as do our Cross Country teams.

Both Monday & Tuesday are blank slates for Carroll County this week as Volleyball 🏐 has its final bye ahead of a Second Place Showdown up in Radford on Thursday night.

Coach Montgomery and his Band of Dedicated Runners 🏃‍♂️ head up to Blacksburg on Wednesday afternoon for their final regular season meet. After Wednesdays run 🏃‍♂️ the team will turn their attention to their Regional meet and if they find success there then the State meet.

Football 🏈 gets the week off before finishing up their season with two home games with Radford and Glenvar. Radford (8-0) has yet to play a game where their opponent stayed within 24 points so the Cavs will have their work cut out for them down the stretch.

There is Volleyball 🏐 action tonight over in Floyd County that pertains to Carroll County. Our Lady 👩 Cavaliers are 1.5 games behind District leader Alleghany heading into the Cougars match with Floyd. AHS(9-1) will clinch the regular season Championship with a victory tonight over the host Buffaloes (1-9) but if FCHS could find a way to pull off the upset it would keep Carroll County alive for a share of the Crown 👑.

Either way, the Varsity team has qualified for the District tournament next week. #1 vs #4 & #2 vs #3.

The Junior Varsity team will conclude their season at Radford on Thursday night 🌙.
