Going behind the scenes ahead of Tomorrow’s Special Olympics 5K ! There was a Skeleton Crew Hard at work !

Smiles were easy to find as the hard working 💪 group of Vickey’s & her helpers were wrapping up a two day process of preparing for their Big Event.

Final Score from Floyd County – 🐃 20, Cavaliers 6

Floyd County started out 0-4 before earning a third straight victory Friday evening, the latest one at the expense of our Cavaliers.

The teams traded touchdowns in the first half but Floyd led 7-6 at the break after CCHS failed on its conversion. The Cavs defense continued to sparkle throughout the 3rd quarter with the highlight coming on a 4th and 2 stop ✋ with the Buffaloes inside the Red Zone.

Floyd County finally broke through with 10:45 remaining in the contest, moving 55 yards in just two plays. After forcing a Cavs punt the home team completed a 17 yard pass and a 38 yard run to push the lead out to 14-6.

Nathaniel Dalton scooted 19 yards on a 2 & 13 to move the ball across midfield in hopes of tying the game but the drive eventually stalled. Floyd added a late score with just over 1 minute remaining to create the deceiving final score of 20-6.

Carroll County (2-6) returns home 🏡 for the final two weeks of the season as both Radford and Glenvar come to the Hill to close out the season.

Allen Worrell was at the game and we encourage everyone to check his gamer at The Carroll News !

It’s a Fall Friday here in Laurel Fork and things are happening All Over

The crew from the Carroll County Special Olympics are making the final adjustments to the 5K course out at Hillsville Elementary School 🏫 ahead of Tomorrow’s Fund Raiser….

On the Hill our Varsity Football team is preparing for tonight’s 🏈 game over in Floyd, Virginia. Fans have the choice of catching the action on the Network or making the pretty drive 🚗 over to our neighboring County.

Another option for tonight is to head down to Cavalier Park where the U-12 Travel team is set to play a Softball game. You can’t host a Softball game without prepping the Diamond first.

We will file the next option under the heading of Haters are going to Hate.

Today / Tonight is the opening for the Taylor Swift Eras Tour movie 🎥 event. The running time is just under 3 hours with the setting taking place in So-Fi Stadium 🏟 out in Los Angeles.

I am still rather impressed with the fact that Taylor was able to talk her Parents into selling their Family 👪 🏡 so they could move to Nashville, Tennessee so she could pursue a career in Music 🎶 at the ripe ole age of 14.

At 14 I was still struggling with things like which type of Pop Tarts were my favorite???

One more option for some Friday night 🌙 entertainment is visiting one of the numerous Haunted Houses 🏘️…….

For me, the day will be centered around catching up with Mr. Kevin Burress for a bit and trying to capture some of the hard work that has been put in by the Carroll County Special Olympics out at Hillsville Elementary. But one can never rule out checking out Taylor Swift – I did finally decide on Cinnamon with Frosting!

Spend some time with someone that matters and have yourself a Blessed Day !

Final Note 📝 – if you find yourself over in Floyd and run into our Friend Allen Worrell please offer him some words of encouragement for his efforts !
