Coach Greg Talley has returned from Southwest Virginia Community College after what might be the final recruiting trip for the Family πŸ‘ͺ

Greg and Jabin Talley have had an amazing Summer season as the Father & Son / Coach & Player duo have made the rounds ahead of Jabin’s Senior Tennis 🎾 season.

The above message was the latest from Coach, or Mr. T as I like to call him. Greg and I have a great deal in common so its easy enough for the two of us to communicate.

The talk of getting to possibly continue his Basketball πŸ€ career after he turns his jersey in to Head Coach Anthony Barnes later this year is new to the conversation.

Carroll County High School 🏫 had enough Student Athletes sign Letters βœ‰ of Intent last year that the total reached double figures. The ceremony is normally held in the Cavalier Library and is both well attended and documented. A memory of a Lifetime for the Students, the Coaches and the Families in addition to a proud day for the School 🏫 and the Community !

The Talley duo has taken the time to allow us to create a documentary of each one of the visits that have taken over the past 3 months. We are appreciative of getting to see the process when there are a multitude of choices / offers on the table.

At least three of the possible landing spots would have Jabin attending a College Campus with a fellow CCHS Alum !

Thanks once again for the backstage pass to the entire process πŸ™ and we will now get the opportunity to cheer on Jabin for one last Hoops and then the final send-off next Spring.

It’s Game Day for the Blue Devils up here in Connecticut but while we wait βœ‹for Kickoff let’s talk Lady πŸ‘© Cavaliers Volleyball πŸ

Today’s forecast in East Hartford is less than ideal and the Home 🏑 team is still looking for their first Win on the season but that hasn’t dampened the spirit of the Tailgating outside of Rentschler Field.

While I take in the sights and sounds from Duke’s first road game there’s a window of opportunity to look ahead the week that awaits our VB team.

Monday – Tuesday – Thursday night πŸŒ™ matches await the Cavs (8-4, 4-1), with two of the three coming against teams that have bested our group already this season.

Monday night πŸŒ™ (Grandparents Nite) (Hawaiian Theme) has Marion coming to the Hill in our final Non-District contest. Marion defended their home floor by defeating CCHS 3-1 in a match that closer than the score indicates. Our crowd could very well have an impact on this outcome!

____________________________

Tuesday Night πŸŒ™ has us at Home 🏑 once again as we welcome Radford to the Hill for a match that closes out the first half of the Three Rivers District schedule. The themes will be Besties Night πŸŒ™ and Black Out. We haven’t had Radford yet this season but we are a tough team to face when we are fully healthy.

Thursday Night πŸŒ™ we make the trek to Alleghany for a match that more than likely will decide the District Championship. The Cougars defeated the Cavs at home in 4 sets but we were without Madison Lyons for that evening. Win on the road and move into a tie for First place but if we come up short we fall 2 games back plus AHS would hold the πŸ‘”breaker.

It’s an important stretch for the Lady πŸ‘© Cavaliers Volleyball 🏐 and I love the fact that our beloved Coach, Cindy Edwards ❀ is going to collect some Karma for the week tomorrow by joining us at the Carroll County High School 🏫 Golf β›³ Outing.

Our 3 Buses have just pulled into the grounds here so I will get to work on what we hope will be Victory #4 on the 🏈🏈🏈🏈 season for Duke.

It’s not realistic for me to try and get folks to travel up and back to the Highlands on Thursday night but if you are looking for something to do on Monday or Tuesday I sincerely hope you will consider stopping by the Gymnasium to check our Ladies out – They Got Game and we try to make it Fun for everyone !

HULK SMASH !
