It’s Football 🏈🏈🏈 Friday so let’s kickoff with a look inside the Carroll County High School 🏫 game at James River before Louisville @ NC State and Notre Dame @ Duke

Before we get started about an exciting weekend down here on Tobacco Road let’s take a look at the Cavaliers vs Knights ahead of our folks making the trip up to Buchanan tonight.

Carroll County (1-4) at James River (3-2) is one of the games were the records don’t reflect what they should. Our Cavaliers team has dropped four straight contests after opening the season with a road win. But each of the four games hung in the balance all the way up to the Final horn!

Last week was a great example of CCHS pushing an opponent to their brink before ultimately falling 26-17 to Patrick County. The Cougars went a perfect 4 of 4 in the second half on 4th down conversions in scoring 20 points over the final two quarters.

One of the challenges that our Cavaliers team will face tonight figures to be a Big Crowd because if JRHS is anything its a tight knit Community that bleeds for their Knights. The number of fans that showed up for their Softball games throughout their run to the State Finals was beyond impressive.

Fun Question for the Day – Do the folks up there feel the same way about driving πŸš— to Carroll County as we do about driving to Buchanan ? Just wondering…..

Here’s hoping that our Cavaliers can get a Win tonight πŸ™ and they can build on it throughout the second half of their season !

I feel safe in saying that I will be the only one watching πŸ‘€ Carroll County vs James River from inside Carter-Finley Stadium 🏟 !

Go Cavs !

The Circus πŸŽͺ is in Town !

Wait long enough and anything can happen!

First things First –

Six hours until Kickoff !

If you are heading up to JRHS tonight – Godspeed on your journey and pictures πŸ“· from up there are Welcome πŸ™

Cavs had a chance in the bottom of the final inning. Had bases loaded 0 outs. Floyd turns a nice double play from home to 1st preserving the shutout. Next batter grounded out to 2nd to end the game. Final from game 1 Floyd 3 Cavs 0.

Top10 reasons for leaving Laurel Fork 🍴and heading out to Alleghany High School 🏫 for a regular season Volleyball 🏐 Match

Reason #10 – Getting to stop βœ‹ at Fazolli’s in Dublin (Exit 98). If you get back quick enough this can be reason #11 as well!

Reason #9 – Some villages have cool 😎 names and others have scenic views. Eagle Rock has both!

Reason #8 – The views of the James River

Reason #7 – IRON GATE – simply a throw back to a past time when things were simpler, or atleast in my imagination.

Reason #6 – The rugged terrain along US-220 North

Reason #5 – Penny’s Diner at the Low Moor Exit. The place is small but they could a great job of taking their customers back in time.

Reason #4 –

Our Junior Varsity team continues to improve under the guidance of Coach Jason Petty πŸ’™

Reason #3 – The lady πŸ‘© on the right will have one or two Tootsie Pops for me during the match and the one on the Left keeps the one on the right in check.

Reason #2 – This group of Young Ladies are near and dear to me. What better way can one show appreciation than going out to the Boonies to cheer them on !!!

Before #1, I have to Thank the following πŸ™ people for making my trip possible….

Shawn Montgomery – knowing that Coach will send me coverage for his Student Athletes.

Kevin Burress – Kevin will capture both halves of our Softball team double header.

Donna Nester – Donna will keep us informed of the JV Football game….

Now the #1 reason I committed half a day and 250+ miles to attend our Match tonight…

To stand next to this Lady πŸ‘©β€
