Back out amongst the Laurel Fork Cows 🐄 after a Fun Night 🌙 of Lady Cavaliers 👩 Volleyball 🏐

Each time we host a CCHS Volleyball 🏐 match we try and find a way to show some Love 💘 to the amazing group of Family 👪 and Friends that support our Volleyball 🏐 teams ! Tonight was night 4 of 9 and the Ladies went with Pink Neon and we went with Dad’s R Parents Too.

The Dad’s were invited down to stand next to their daughters during the pre-game introductions and each one received a Mini-Volleyball 🏐 with a personal message from their Kiddo.

The only trouble with being the one doing the talking during this time is that it limits we in regards to taking pictures 📷. So if anyone captured any part of it Please share with the class.

It was great to see both of the Worrells in the Gymnasium as it means that both the Gazette and the Carroll News will have coverage for our Ladies !

JV – Carroll County shook of a slow start in the first set and captured the opening set 25-19.

James River bounced back in a big way to even the match, winning the second set 25-8. The Knights went on a 9-0 run after the Cavaliers pulled within 12-7.

The visitors took an 8-1 lead in the deciding game but Jason Petty coached his team back from the brink as the Cavaliers rallied to play the remainder of the set at 7-5, falling 15-6.

Varsity took center stage with neon hand prints on display and at 7:10pm the first serve took place. The opening set was the definition of back and forth as neither team could put on a run 🏃‍♂️.

Carroll County did string together the final three points to close out the opener, 25-19.

These two gentlemen are such a Huge part of our efforts to create an atmosphere in the building ! One with the Digs and one as the Master of the Hulk Smash 💪

Set #2 – The Cavaliers jumped out to an early 6-2 lead but struggled ever so slightly from the service line which allowed JRHS to stay close and finally close out the equalizer, 25-20.

_______________________________

Ser #3 – Dropping the second set created a sense of urgency in our team and it netted a 7-2 advantage. The squads traded points for the middle part of the set until CCHS closed it out with a 6-1 run 🏃‍♂️ for a 25-14 victory. The team started fast and finished fast to defeat a gritty Knights unit, 25-14.

Set – #4 : JRHS led 4-2 before the Cavaliers reeled off 6 straight 🔥, their longest run 🏃‍♂️ of the evening. But the Knights kept digging and blocking some might Cavs swings while taking a 22-21 lead.

Our Ladies were staring a fifth set but they didn’t blink. The final run 🏃‍♂️ was 4-1, closing out the victory 25-23!!!!!

Our goal, with all of the props and the other volunteers, is to create the level of atmosphere that our Volleyball 🏐 team deserves when they play in front of a Home 🏡 crowd. We hope that the team felt the energy, the same energy I expect Floyd County to display when they host us Thursday night 🌙.

It will be Grandparents Night 🌙 the next time our Lady 👩 Cavaliers play in their 🏡 Gymnasium!

Want to close out with a capture of some of the hard working Folks that live to make Carroll County High School 🏫 the best school it can be!

Cavalier Softball on a Monday Night 🌙

Coach Rick Nester held his latest Fall Ball practice last night 🌙 with his full coaching staff of 4 and 15 players participating.

The group of players included returning Varsity, Junior Varsity and 8th grade players from last season.

Emma Leath, Isabella Norman, Natalie Burress, Bayliegh Allen, Carlie Beamer, Laynie-Jo Leonard, Faith Clontz, Raylee Goins, Ashton Rodrigue, Addie Greene, Laiken Burnett, Emma Harman, Malaia Caviness, Hannah Jones and Kenzey McMillan complete the list of dedicated Student Athletes that attended last night 🌙.

The group will get back together on Thursday night 🌙, minus the four that play Volleyball 🏐 as they will be over @ Floyd County for a match. The team from Pulaski County is hoping to be able to make the trek down for a Fall Ball scrimmage.

To show Mercy to our email subscribers I will take all of the other min-stories from my 7 hours on the Hill into just one more story tonight

Let’s start out with some exciting news from the category of Law enforcement – this always energetic Officer was recently reassigned to our School 🏫 so instead of being a often used fill-in he is now part of our Community Full Time!

I stopped on my way back from Mt.Airy for just a second and somehow I ended up with a passenger in my Van. #Crazy…

Always excited to run into one of our Volleyball 🏐 Entertainment members. This captures the Hulk and his youngin ! Proud to report that Miss Burress is proud to support your Dad 👨as the Hulk ! Kevin tells me they’re adding a U-12 Travel team to the U-10 & U-14 already in place!

Our favorite Grandma 👵and one of her many Grandchildren. Keeping up with this young lady is a part time job! Keep it up Addie Greene….

Special Thank You to Marion Harris for his efforts to get the Word Out about our effort 🙏 for tomorrow night 🌙. We are inviting the Father’s to join the introduction ceremony on an evening we will call “Dad’s are Parents 2”.

Earlier this season we invited the Mother’s to stand with their Daughters and tomorrow night 🌙 we will do the same for the Father’s !

Thanks Marion Harris and Thanks Coach Edwards !

After the conclusion of Softball practice I was able to head across the street and catch some of the Junior Varsity Football 🏈🏈🏈 game. There will be some more on the game curtosey of Donna Nester. Cavaliers held on for a 22-14 win over George Wythe.

Coach Nester ended up with a great turnout for his Monday night 🌙 off season session! It would appear that they will be hosting some guests on Thursday night.

It was great to see Jeff Tobler back at it after an illness sidelined him for most of last week, including his Middle School 🏫 Football season opening game

Much more to come on the Softball front tomorrow and of course we will be in the Gymnasium with the Volleyball 🏐 matches starting at 5pm.

Thanks Donna !

Time to start the night 🌙 shift responsibilities so we’ll sign off with have a Blessed Night !

The young Man 👨 that I like to call the Hardest worker in all of Show Biz was back at again. Soccer ⚽️ Coach Forrest Johnson is as dedicated as dedicated gets ! 3-Day Soccer ⚽️ Camp for K-6th graders started tonight…

If life is a cartoon then CCHS Soccer ⚽️ Coach Forrest Johnson would be cast as the Roadrunner and I would play the role of the not so wiley Coyote. This young man 👨 simply goes at it as hard as he can and in spite of me and my mechanic Charlie being HUGE supporters of his efforts its very seldom that I get to catch him doing his Good Deads.

This always pleasant Gentlemen is Forrest’s Wing Man 👨. Coach was more than happy to get me up to speed on the two parts of the evening – the first part being off season conditioning and the second part being the latest Soccer ⚽️ Camp.

Jeremy Puckett is always smiling 😃

Forrest and Company will be back out with the younger ones Tuesday night 🌙 (weather permitting) and Wednesday night. Just the latest effort by one of the Pillars of our Community !
