Carroll County High School 🏫 is full of High Performance Student Athletes, including one pair of Highly efficient Spark Plugs in Brayden & Bryce Smoot !

We’ve taken a look at some of the 3-Sport Athletes on the Boys πŸ‘¦ side of the Cavaliers in Ethan Richardson and Davis Reitzel. Today its time to shine a light on the definition of High Energy, the Twins known as Brayden & Bryce Smoot.

Whether its on the gridiron 🏈, Anthony Barnes’s basketball πŸ€ court or Coach Shawn Montgomery’s track team, Smoot is going at it in the only manner he knows – Full Speed !

Currently in football season with basketball πŸ€ on deck, Smoot is the poster child of someone who truly enjoys wearing the School 🏫 colors and representing the Cavalier Nation.

The Smoots will be back in action 🎬 this Friday night when the Cavaliers travel North to face George Wythe High School 🏫. Once football is over he will have to make the adjustment of training for a different sport.

No matter which side of the conversation you land one the Football training and Basketball training are simply two different animals. One would have to think that Smoot might enjoy his time on the track when its just about busting out his Speed !

Bryce & Brayden Smoot = High Octane !

The dynamic duo will flirt with collecting 20 Letters while doing what they Love πŸ’˜ for our Cavaliers !

Assistant Basketball Coach πŸ€ Kris Richardson chimed in on just how competitive the pair are-

“Bryce has always been a competitive player. That’s what has made this group special. They push each other to be the very best. Bryce played basketball, baseball and football when he was younger. He was always good at everything sport he played.

Funny, the same can be said about Brayden also. They both are so competitive at home with each other that they bring another level of competitiveness to high school.”

Thanks Kris and Thanks Mom & Dad for sharing your gifted Boys πŸ‘¦ with our community !

Time to show a Bit of Love πŸ’˜ for both Carroll County Football 🏈🏈🏈 and hard working Craig Worrell

The final drive πŸš— down the field Friday night by the Carroll County football team would have made Joe Montana proud. The effort might have been lost in the fact that it ended two feet shy of the end zone but not to me. At the end of the night πŸŒ™ Carroll County had slipped to 1-2 on the season and that took me back to Year #1 of our efforts with the Carroll County Sports Report.

That season I attended all 10 games on the schedule and watched with a great deal of appreciation for the effort put forth week in and week out. The team finished up at 2-8 and I wrote a story calling them the best 2-8 team in history.

Yes, there was two games that they couldn’t stay competitive in but the other EIGHT were still in doubt on the final play. They are coached well and they play hard ! Here’s hoping for a positive outcome Friday night in Wytheville…

Lucas Dalton overheard me talking after Softball practice Monday night about my Love πŸ’“ for all things Duke University Football. He quick wittely said I had grown accustomed to being on the wrong end of a final score – this was and is very true but it doesn’t change how I feel about the team or the school.

While I don’t have a direct connection to our Football team, only because I am trying to elevate other Cavalier teams to that level, it doesn’t mean that they don’t have a fan on Friday nights.

I see our Point Guard / Sprinter in the backfield along side one of our many colorful Wrestlers. This week I met our Quarterbacks Father πŸ‘¨ while working up at Omega. I love how the community wraps itself around the program.

Switching over to Craig Worrell πŸ‘. Anyone that reads my stuff knows how much I appreciate πŸ™ Alan Worrell and the Carroll News. In order of difficulty with myself, Alan & Craig it looks like this –

EASY – is getting to pick the topic and length of every story and have unlimited space. This is what allows me to head across the street at 4pm and write about a JV Golf β›³ match. I am 100% Carroll County and don’t have to hide it.

KINDA HARD – Our friend Alan Worrell is just as much of a HOMER as me but he is limited to how much space he can give a topic when it comes to what appears in his Carroll News.

INSANITY – Craig Worrell has a nearly impossible job as he is required to equally cover Sports for Galax, Carroll County and Grayson County. So not only does he have to spread the Love across all of the Sports but he has to do it 3 times over.

The football game on Friday is a perfect example – I wrote about the spirit of the game and the effort our players displayed.

Alan wrote a story from a Carroll County High point of view and did a very nice job with it.

Craig was tasked with writing ✍ a story that would not alienate either fan base. He did just that!

The three Bears 🐻 of local Sports writing ✍. Last night I had the rare opportunity to be holding a microphone🎀 in a room where the Non-Brother Worrells were covering the event I was announcing. When you hear me applaud πŸ‘ their efforts as I did last night πŸŒ™ please know that is in Genuine Respect.

Closing thought to our Football program – if anyone wants to take the time to share some insight into the program I’m fairly easy to spot as I’m pretty sure that I am the only one rotating thru a set of 32 NHL jerseys. Speaking of which, I am looking forward to fall when the sweaters (actual name for them) will become useful.

Greetings on a Wednesday morning πŸŒ„ – JV Golf later today, just finished this week’s As the Spiral Spins and some news about Marion Harris plus Soccer ⚽️ camp looks to resume.

Last night Marion was in the Gymnasium tucked away in the upper corner. It would be easy to think that Mrs.Shelia had put her husband in a time out but the truth is Marion was getting in another practice run πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ on one of our future projects.

Randy Arrington runs an on-line Newspaper πŸ“° up in Page County and our relationship goes back nearly two decades now. Randy takes a great deal of pride in the coverage he provides the two public High Schools and one Christian ✝️ School in his area. The latest thing that Randy started working with is putting a voice (commentary) behind the picture πŸ“· on the Network that so many of us depend on. This is one of many items on a list of Goals we have for improving our ability to cover Carroll County High School 🏫 Sports. Last night πŸŒ™ Marion was practicing both play by play and Color.

With that said, don’t rule out Shelia sending him away.

Hopefully everyone πŸ™ will have a Great Day and I will have the ability to catch up with our Golfers πŸŒοΈβ€β™‚οΈ later today.
