Multi-tasking Football @ NCST – Carroll County and the ACC…Cavaliers “D” gets it Done in 14-0 road victory !!!!

CCHS 🏈 just doubled up their lead over James River from 7-0 to 14-0 as our Mr. Smoot pushed it in from 2 yards out (5:00-3rd).

Carroll County’s defense stuffed the Knights on three straight plays after punting the ball back over Midway through the 3rd and then the Knights had a mishandled punt attempt that ended with the punter going down on his own 2-yard line. 1 play later the lead moves to 14-0!

Meanwhile here at Carter-Finley Stadium 🏟 the Louisville Cardinals just scored their first points and now trail just 10-7, late in the 3rd.

CCHS 🏈 picks up 19 on 2&20 and then converted the 3rd down! 1 and 10 from midfield as the 3rd quarter winds down.

Louisville tacks on a Field Goal, knotted at 10-10

Carroll County looking to maintain control for one more quarter !

9:50pm – Clock ⏰ strikes 0:00 – Cavs Win and Defense collects a shut out over the Knights!!

10-10 here in Carter-Finley Stadium 🏟 and the Cards are in possession of the 🏈

Louisville connects on a 53 yard Field Goal and have their first lead with 5:32 left in the game.

U of L forces a Wolfpack punt – needs to run out 3:50 off the clock ⏰. Two first downs will end the game…

NCSU set to get the ball back with 2+ left, not really as a penalty is called that will keep the ball with Louisville……

Cards back to trying to kill the clock ⏰. Pack D do it again and Cards punt with 1:44 left. 83 yard FG – NCSU needs 30 yards.

Brenan Armstrong is hit while throwing a 1st down pass that U of L intercepts. 3 Victory formations and it will be over.

Louisville (5-0, 3-0) pitches a 13-0 shutout in the second half for a 13-10 victory in front of a Sold Out Crowd.

It’s Football 🏈🏈🏈 Friday so let’s kickoff with a look inside the Carroll County High School 🏫 game at James River before Louisville @ NC State and Notre Dame @ Duke

Before we get started about an exciting weekend down here on Tobacco Road let’s take a look at the Cavaliers vs Knights ahead of our folks making the trip up to Buchanan tonight.

Carroll County (1-4) at James River (3-2) is one of the games were the records don’t reflect what they should. Our Cavaliers team has dropped four straight contests after opening the season with a road win. But each of the four games hung in the balance all the way up to the Final horn!

Last week was a great example of CCHS pushing an opponent to their brink before ultimately falling 26-17 to Patrick County. The Cougars went a perfect 4 of 4 in the second half on 4th down conversions in scoring 20 points over the final two quarters.

One of the challenges that our Cavaliers team will face tonight figures to be a Big Crowd because if JRHS is anything its a tight knit Community that bleeds for their Knights. The number of fans that showed up for their Softball games throughout their run to the State Finals was beyond impressive.

Fun Question for the Day – Do the folks up there feel the same way about driving πŸš— to Carroll County as we do about driving to Buchanan ? Just wondering…..

Here’s hoping that our Cavaliers can get a Win tonight πŸ™ and they can build on it throughout the second half of their season !

I feel safe in saying that I will be the only one watching πŸ‘€ Carroll County vs James River from inside Carter-Finley Stadium 🏟 !

Go Cavs !

The Circus πŸŽͺ is in Town !

Wait long enough and anything can happen!

First things First –

Six hours until Kickoff !

If you are heading up to JRHS tonight – Godspeed on your journey and pictures πŸ“· from up there are Welcome πŸ™
