Quick update on a Saturday morning πŸŒ„

The numbers from yesterday show that a few new people found our site! So in addition to sharing the update from Marion about the Volleyball 🏐 match that his middle (Natalie ) daughter is playing in today, I will share a couple of thoughts about our intentions.

Each posting is designed to be digested in 90 seconds or less as we understand that folks are busy. Each post πŸ“« will be POSITIVE and have some tie to Carroll County.

We welcome πŸ™ people sending us updates about things because nobody can keep up with everything, trust me on that one.

Have yourself a Blessed Day !

It’s Game Day down in Boone but there’s time to talk Cavaliers Volleyball 🏐 before heading South

The script is in place for the contest versus the Liberty Flames later today so before the drive πŸš— down let’s take a look at the upcoming Home 🏑 Volleyball 🏐 match on Tuesday night πŸŒ™ with Pulaski County.

This past Spring long time CCHS Coach Rick Nester was looking for ways to make playing for his Softball team just a little more fun and we were able to get together and work on a number of things that enhanced the experience for both the Student Athletes and the Parents.

Fast forward to the Fall season and once again a Coaching legend is searching to do just the same. Cindy Edwards is Volleyball 🏐, not only to our team but to the Region. There’s a Volleyball 🏐 in the Trophy πŸ† case with the #400 on it and this years team is geared up to push her in the direction of 500.

The task at hand βœ‹ is to make the eight nights πŸŒ™ in our Gymnasium as much of an event as possible without breaking the Bank 🏦.

Everytime I attend a Sporting event at any level I am trying to find the answers to the question of what are they doing today or tonight that makes it just a bit more memorable. Then you ask the next question – would that work at the High School 🏫. Level?

Today’s game down at Boone is one great example – its Alumni Day. Every former player in attendance will be introduced and acknowledged by yours truly at Halftime. This is an easy one to arrange and the cost is minimal.

One thing that we will be borrowing from the pages of the NCAA is conducting brief interviews in between sets with Assistant Coach Maleah Neely. She will be able to point out what worked in the set that was just played and let us know what adjustments we can expect in the upcoming set.

Borrowing a page from David Letterman let’s take a look at the Top 10 reasons you should attend our Game on Tuesday evening:

#10 – It’s Pulaski County, everyone wants to try and beat the Cougars!

#9 – Freshman Ali Wright and Addie Greene will be making their Varsity debuts.

#8 – If there’s anything you don’t understand Shelia Harris will happily explain it to you.

#7 – Eight Seniors will be beginning their Final Season wearing the colors.

#6 – Watching πŸ‘€ Jason Petty in his highly animated manner coaching his JV squad.

#5 – Maleah Neely is an energetic young Lady πŸ‘© and hearing her insights should prove highly informative.

#4 – Madison Lyons jump serve is worth the price of admission.

#3 – The more people in the Gymnasium means instant energy for our dedicated Team!

#2 – Mama Petty is more than likely to have a bag πŸŽ’ of Candy 🍬 that she’s willing to share.

#1 – Cindy Edwards is REALLY good at what she does ! Even if she can’t remember just how long she has been doing it.

Bright Lights (not yet on), Big City – An Evening cheering on Adrienne Harris and the Wasps Soccer Team !

Wearing #17 for the visitors……….

ESPN+ is broadcasting tonight’s game and a nice crowd has shown up to support the teams. The National Anthem has been played and we are ready to get underway !

2019 Graduate πŸŽ“ of Carroll County High beginning her Senior season.

They were nice enough to have Ms. Harris strap on a neon green Arm Band to make it easier for us to follow her movements !

Better explanation is the Band identifies her as the team captain. Still scoreless as we reach the halfway point of the first half.

Part of the Harris Fan Club for the evening !

16:17 remaining in the Half when Radford finds the back of the net for the first time (10th shot on goal).

3:17 (1) – Radford nets a second goal but the E & H keeper has made six saves, including a couple of direct shots.

7:54 pm – 15 minute Halftime now and just like Mama Petty at the Volleyball 🏐 games back home 🏑 there’s someone passing out lolly pops.

Nice crowd has formed in the E & H cheering section!

8:10pm – ready for the 2nd half to get underway

33:39 (2) Highlanders score again on a rocket πŸš€ to the upper left corner.

24:02 (2) Highlanders score on a lazer from just outside the box πŸ“¦

The lights are now in full effect as Night πŸŒ™ has fallen.

While the final score will tilt in the favor of the Home 🏑 team one can’t help but be impressed by the effort displayed by the Wasps keeper.

The young lady πŸ‘© was under fire πŸ”₯ for the entire 90 minutes but managed to hold her own.

Let’s call this one – The Three Wiseman of Main Street and One plucky sidekick….
