Local Coach continues to Give Back to his Community, with a Little Help from his Friends!

Kevin Burress, pictured here with 14-U assistant Coaches Scotty Goins and Chris Leonard is a busy, busy Man πŸ‘¨. Burress and his staff just returned from their latest 14-Under Travel Team tournament and they brought back some hardware.

Lady πŸ‘© Swat finished as Runner -Up this past weekend and are already looking forward to their next trip which will be to Bluefield on Labor Day weekend.

The Lighter Side…..

Kevin also runs the 10-U Team, this time with his help coming from Wife Myranda and Chenoa Payne. They are still is the early stages of practicing and scrimmages but the growth is beginning to show !

There’s even a rumor that Kevin is set to make his acting debut this week !! Is there any limits to what this man can do ? Is he some type of Super Hero or something…….

Thanks Kevin and Friends for what you do for our Youth !!

Coming to an Event near you soon – Four straight Days of trying hard to make people smile and / or Laugh !

Monday evening (6:30) – Coach Nester is bringing in a ringer to pitch his next intersquad game. Not sure if there’s any eligibility left for the right hander that will be pitching to both teams ?

Tuesday evening – Coach Edwards and Coach Petty will be in the Gymnasium for their Home 🏑 Openers against Pulaski County. It’s our Goal to make the evening one that folks will be talking about Wednesday morning πŸŒ„.

Wednesday afternoon is the day we get to correct the sole oversight from last season. The goal was to spend some time with each and every program at least one time during the School 🏫 year. Accomplished the mission with the exception of the Cross Country team – just a matter of not making the dates line up. We will fix that on Wednesday.

Thursday – its off to the Windy City as I finish up with my WNBA responsibilities for the Las Vegas Aces and Chicago Sky game.

As for Tuesday night πŸŒ™, I am searching for 8 energetic Students and Addie’s Grandmother πŸ‘΅ for some assistance !

Thrilled to report that Addie’s Grandmother has signed on to ASSIST us !!!!!!!!

Going to call this one Hikes, Spikes and Digs ! Having fun on a Saturday

Top – Ben Tickle & Marion Harris inside the Dedmon Center and sign on the New River Trail.

Saturday began with a Hike πŸšΆβ€β™‚οΈin between Foster Falls and Lone Ash.

Next stop βœ‹ was a return to Radford University and once again it was to check in on a Harris daughter wearing the colors of Emory & Henry.

4pm start time for the scrimmage….

Crossing paths with Coach Tickle was a pleasant surprise. Getting feedback from Coach Tickle after last night’s Football scrimmage in Martinsville was not part of the initial plan for the day.

” I was pleasantly surprised by our effort last night,” Tickle said. ” Anything that they accomplished was due to our mistakes. We need to tighten up our tackling a bit but we are headed in the right direction.”

CCHS football officially opens their season at Grundy this coming Friday night πŸŒ™.

The Hike was under ideal conditions and came in just under 6 miles.

Natalie Harris is one of 10 Freshman on the Wasps team this season. Wearing #2 and rooming with a familiar face in #6 Hannah Hylton (Glenvar ’23).

The final stop βœ‹ on the day will be further preparation for Tuesday night πŸŒ™ in the Cavaliers Gymnasium. Finding a prop to Celebrate Digs !
