Sunday is set to be All About the Ladies – here in a few minutes Marion Harris will be taking in the USA – Sweden ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ช World ๐ŸŒŽ Cup match and later it will be Sparks @ Mystics Live

The fun part of the World ๐ŸŒŽ that is High School ๐Ÿซ Sports is one never knows when and where a rising Star ๐ŸŒŸ will level out after their playing days at CCHS have concluded. For most their final game will be played at the High School level but others will advance to play beyond the Three Rivers District.

In regards to Soccer โšฝ๏ธ, the Women’s team will be playing on the Biggest of stages in Australia ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡บ at 5am local time. The US ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ team is trying hard to 3-peat but will need four straight Wins in the Land Down Under to do so.

By comparison the WNBA game taking place in the Nation’s Capital at 3pm is just a regular season game but its safe to say that all of the players on Los Angeles and Washington played for their High School teams a few years back.

Hopefully the combination of games will provide a nice diversion as the countdown continues toward the Opening games for the Cavaliers!

The USA ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ team dominated every statistical category from beginning to end but couldn’t find the back of the net. Sweden ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ช advances to the QF on the strength of a 5-4 advantage in Penalty Kicks.

High Scoring Affair !

The smallest of the 12 WNBA arenas.

Tomorrow its back to the Cavs Softball Park !

Marion sharing the Knowledge or as the Kool Kids call it – the 411 on the Women’s World ๐ŸŒŽ Cup

After round two there has been two of the biggest upsets in womenโ€™s World Cup history!!! Also three of the biggest powerhouses have to get a point or win to move on (USA, Brazil, and Germany) this goes to show that the world is getting better and more and more countries are investing in the womenโ€™s game!!! This is going to be a fun finish to this Cup.

Top 3 Dark Horses 1. Spain 2. Japan 3. Jamaica

Still early but I am very impressed with my 3 dark horses!!! USA is still the team to beat but itโ€™s hard to 3 peat in any sport. The biggest thing is you can definitely see that more and more countries are investing in the womenโ€™s side of the game.

Going to be a great tournament!!!!

Putting a few words below an Alan Worrell picture ๐Ÿ“ท. Two impressive young Ladies that are a Big part of the Lady ๐Ÿ‘ฉ Cavaliers future.

Corrie Delp and Laiken Burnett both played a large part of our adventures last season and there’s no reason to think they will slow down in 2023-2024.

We were fortunate enough to be in Lynchburg for the State Track and Field Meet as Corrie showed off her mad Hops and unlimited Speed.

Laiken has the Top Spot for last year as the Student Athlete I spent the most time covering. The 3 Sport efforts of Ms. Burnett had me in her presence over 40 times. Of course I have to add that if Laiken was performing then Mom and Dad ๐Ÿ‘จwere happily in the stands supporting her latest efforts
