There’s only one word to describe the group of young Ladies that went straight from Volleyball 🏐 practice to Softball practice yesterday – DEDICATED!

Allen Iverson had one of the most memorable moments in Sports history back in the day on the topic of Practice. “We’re talking about Practice” was the main theme that day and it leads into a perfect example of what was on display from 6:30 to 8:00pm last night 🌙.

I actually won’t be able to list the names of the crossover Student Athletes until later today when I’m in the Gymnasium with the Volleyball team but its easy enough to discuss them as a group.

Yesterday would have began in the usual manner for this group. Waking ⏰ up and heading out to school 🏫. That’s a full day for some, attending classes and trying to navigate life as a teenager. After the final bell 🔔 rings our dedicated group heads toward the Gym where Coach Edwards and Coach Petty await them.

The VB teams are set to compete in front of the Home Crowd on Tuesday for the first time when they host a scrimmage that will include Staunton River. They will play in front of the home 🏡 fans a total of nine times between now and the end of the regular season and you only get to make one first impression.

Once the final drill has been completed and the Volleyballs 🏐 have been put away the majority of the players can finally call it a day after roughly 10 hours. Not our group of overachievers – they swap out their VB uniforms for their back packs which contain their cleats and bats so they can make their way across the street for their next round of practice.

Once practice #2 has reached its conclusion you can return home 🏡 to shower, eat a late dinner 🍽 and worry about your homework – not necessarily in that order. The day ends and before one knows it the time has come to get up and do it again.

Spending Monday evening at a Softball practice for a couple of hours is equal parts trying to help Coach Nester and simply admiring the unbelievable 👏 amount of dedication on display from both groups – the Softball players and the Double Dippers.

Yes, Mr. Iverson, we’re talking about Practice! Also known as dedication and commitment at the end of a 12+ hour day.

It’s 6:30 on a Monday Night 🌙 which means its time for some Carroll County High School 🏫 Softball

How do you replace a Senior Class that held down eight of your twelve roster spots last year ?

Easy answer is you practice, practice and practice! Coach Rick Nester and his dedicated staff are hard at it each Monday and Thursday with the start time being dependent on Coach Cindy Edwards and her Volleyball 🏐 schedule.

Tonight Mother Nature 👩 decided to bypass Cavalier Park so all of the potential JV and Varsity players are ready to take to the Diamond 💎 here shortly.

The Coaching staff has a new but familiar face as Terry Warf is moving up from his spot as the Coach of the 8th grade team to become the assistant Coach for the Junior Varsity under Alexis Dalton.

Ten players are on the field right at 630 with a few more headed in that direction. Volleyball 🏐 practice has ended and now we are at filled up level.

Gray 4, Blue 0 (F) after the full four innings. Coach sends everyone home shortly after 8pm.

Busy Week kicks off this evening with Softball tonight at Cavalier Park

Monday evening has Coach Nester taking to the practice field at 6:30 pm with an inner -squad game following warm-ups.
