File this one Under 7 hours in an almost empty major Airport !

The screen of tthe Computer 🖥 shows one of these photos 📷 on the National News as those of us stranded inside the Detroit Airport were all trying hard to map out an escape plan.

Every possible entry point to the Airport had been flooded, to the point that nobody could get in our out. Flights ✈️ were being canceled every few minutes and there was no hot food available anywhere.

At a time when it would have been oh so easy for any angry Mob to be formed there was a surprising calmness about those who had all been suddenly placed in an unfamiliar situation.

Folks chose to trade stories about why they had to reach Chicago, sooner than later. The gentleman in the Photo 📷 was his way to a Wedding 💒 where he is the Best Man for his childhood Friend.

We had a Bride 👰 to be trying to get to her Bachelorette party 🥳 where her friends and Bridesmaids were anxiousily awaiting. Some 40 something year old Men had tickets 🎟 to a Guns 🔫 and Roses 🌹 concert tonight inside Wrigley Field. The stories kept flowing with my direction and finally I was asked why I had to reach Chicago today? I informed them all that I had a very demanding Boss that wanted some Chicago Style Pizza 🍕 and I was his errand Boy.

I shared many stories about our efforts with Oneofus.Care and how I covered my very first Middle School 🏫 Cross Country meet last night 🌙 because the Youngsters deserved the attention. After 7 hours the first group of folks managed to boar a Delta flight ✈️ and we could all get to our destinations!

Bonus in that the tempature in the Windy City is a brisk 99 degrees

The moral to the story is that its easy to be kind when everything goes your way but if you can still lead with kindness when the deck is stacked against you then others just might follow.

During the extended down time we created a team for the Carroll County Golf ⛳ outing on the 17th that will challenge for last place on the day.

Time to track down a slice of Pizza 🍕 for the Boss now so I can fly back to Detroit and then to Greensboro !

Hoping for the Best for the residents of Detroit plus all of the other travelers !

The link above hopefully 🙏 will take you to the story that our Friend Alan Worrell just penned on our Golf ⛳ Team. Last night 🌙 I was fortunate enough to get 30 minutes with the 2017 Graduate and that talk has me looking forward to the next time our paths cross !

Robinson is trying hard to hit the ground running 🏃‍♂️ and we are more than ready to assist him in his efforts.

First things First – There is a Fund Raising Golf ⛳ Tournament slated for Sunday September 17th at Olde Mill Golf Course in beautiful Laurel Fork, Virginia. The goal is to raise enough money 💰 to invest in some much needed Golf Bags for the team.

We will do everything we can to support his efforts on the 17th in addition to providing all of the coverage Coach wants for his 2023-2024 squad.

Working with Coaches at our High School 🏫 from fresh at it to Local Legends like Rick Nester and Cindy Edwards, it easy to point out that the beginning is the greatest challenge. Robinson is trying to build something that our Community can be proud of and we are excited to help him wherever is needed.

Sunday, September 17th – 1pm is a great opportunity to join up and support our New Golf Coach !

Even if you can’t make the event but you see Chase out and about, Please pass on some encouraging words 🙏.

Breaking News from the Motor City (Detroit). The photos 📷 have been submitted to our Friends in the World 🌎 of Bobbleheads and Veteran Skipper Rick Nester will be our 1st one Released !

Coach and Mrs. Donna have been Good Sports about our Latest Fund Raising project !

Boss Man 👨 Kris Richardson feels that there are more than a few locals that will want one to use for Target Practice……..

Not us here at OneofUs.Care, we plan on setting ours right between Coach K and Coach Cut !!!

Excited about the Process and the connecting flight ✈️ into the Windy City has been canceled due to Weather conditions. Will be hanging out here for a while so I will get started on the Golf ⛳ Story next.

Keeping up with the Harris Sisters can be challenging but Shelia and Marion are enjoying the journey ! CCHS Volleyball 🏐 Tuesday, E & H Soccer ⚽️ and Volleyball 🏐 on Wednesday

Emory volleyball won in 5 against king. Natalie Harris had a great night including a pancake that lead to a point. Had a good night passing and setting!!!!

2nd stop was for the 2nd half of the Emory soccer game against Ferrum!! We got here just in time to see Adrienne Harris score her first of two goals to help Emory to a 4-1 win!!!!

I wanted to add this one of the Reitzel’s from yesterday because it is a further example of things I don’t know and can enjoy the laugh after the fact !

While I have been covering Sports at all levels for over 40 years now, I have only been in Carroll County for 3 of those years. I have crossed paths with Doug a number of times and always loved his demeanor and figured him to be a caring individual but had no idea which who’s Parent he was.

That changed last night 🌙 and now I know him as Davis’s Dad 👨. I went on to explain that the reason I rotate through my 32 NHL jerseys (even in the Summer when it 80+ degrees is for visibility purposes. We are searching for Feel Good Stories about our County and are happy to snap a photo 📷 and here a story. Just look for someone wearing a Hockey 🏒 jersey.
