Ben Tickle offers up -All around, natural athlete! I am convinced that you can put him in any sport and he will be good. Also, just a solid young man!

Our Local Sports Writer Alan Worrell notes 📝- You could say he’s one of the most athletic kids I’ve seen come through the halls of CCHS. When I think of Davis, my first thought is exactly what you and I talked about a while back…the kid runs and jumps like a deer.

Assistant Basketball Coach 🏀 Jason Stockner offers :Davis: Over the last couple of years helping Coach Barnes with Varsity Basketball I’ve gotten to work with Davis and he’s always worked as hard as possible and very coachable. He’s extremely determined to excel in everything like when running sprints for basketball he wants to be first every single time. I know he’ll be successful in whatever he chooses to do in life because of his drive and work ethic. Awesome young man.

Varsity Basketball 🏀 Coach Anthony Barnes :
Davis is a freakish athlete, he is too date the most competitive player I have had the privilege too coach , any drill or any competition we do he does not want to be second period ! And very rare if he does.

Varsity Soccer ⚽️ Coach Forrest Johnson adds –
Davis is one of the most hard-working athletes I’ve had. He always pushes himself to the max that he can do. He never stops running and hustling on the soccer field. He has been on the all district and all region teams 2 of his 3 varsity seasons. He is outstandingly athletic in many ways. But I would honestly have to say my favorite quality that he brings to the soccer program is his positive attitude. Through these past three years of having him, he has never complained. This past year, he had to play so many positions (even goalie) and he unselfishly handled it and played extremely well in the process. I’m happy to have such a good person and athlete in our program.

Assistant Basketball 🏀 Coach Kris Richardson adds :
Davis is probably one of the hardest working young men I know. I’ve known him since around 4th grade. He has always been very athletic, but as he has gotten older, his athleticism seems to have exploded. As you say, he runs and jumps like a deer. He has a motor that NEVER stops……EVER!!!!
To this day and even at a young age, all he wants to do is press full court in basketball because he knows he will never get tired and the other team will. If I had one complaint about Davis, it would be that I wish he was meaner kid on the court…haha. He and Ethan have a friendly rivalry, and both hate losing to each other. I believe they would actually die trying to win at whatever they are playing because of their competitive drive. On top of just being a 3 sport star, he excels in the classroom also. He has a 4.5 GPA??? does governor school on top of his work at CCHS. He is a yes mam/no mam kid, you know, the kind you want your daughter to bring home. He has a fantastic set of parents that we are fortunate to call our friends!

First Pickleball Bobbleheads Unveiled on National Pickleball Day MILWAUKEE – Not for Release Until August 8, 2023 –
This morning, to celebrate National Pickleball Day, the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum unveiled the first Pickleball Bobbleheads. The first bobblehead features Kitchen the Pickleball Mascot while the second is a Pickleball Bobble which is the newest addition to the Sports Ball Bobble Series.
The announcement of their release coincides with National Pickleball Day, which is celebrated on Tuesday, August 8th. The special edition bobbleheads are being produced by the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum. Standing on a yellow pickleball-shaped base bearing his name, the smiling Kitchen bobblehead is holding a paddle featuring his picture.
Wearing sunglasses on his pickleball-shaped head, Kitchen is also wearing a pair of shorts with a net design and a blue cap with his name and a pickleball paddle across the front. The bobblehead, which will be individually numbered to 2,023, is only available through the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum’s Online Store. The bobblehead, which is expected to ship in November, costs $30 each plus a flat-rate shipping charge of $8 per order. The Pickleball Bobble is the newest addition to the first-of-its-kind Sports Ball Bobble Series and joins previously released balls for baseball, basketball, football, golf, hockey, soccer, and tennis that all bobble. The Pickleball Bobble is on a base that is a replica of a pickleball court. “Pickleball” is featured prominently in big, block letters on the front of the base. Each bobble is individually numbered to 2,023 and they are only available through the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum’s Online Store. The bobbles are $25 each plus a flat-rate shipping charge of $8 per order. Designed by Melvin LeBlanc, Kitchen made his debut appearance at the Association of Pickleball Players Casa Grande Pickleball Open in December 2021.
He has become a staple on the APP Tour and has a growing fan following. As for his name, Kitchen, refers to the seven-foot zone on each side of the net. The non-volley zone is more commonly referred to as “the kitchen” of a pickleball court. Players are not permitted to volley while standing in it. The kitchen rule exists to prevent a player from standing at the net and smashing every hit. Pickleball has grown rapidly in popularity since its invention in 1965 as a children’s backyard game at the summer home of Joel Pritchard on Bainbridge Island, Washington. Pritchard and two of his friends, Barney McCallum and Bill Bell, are credited with devising the game and establishing the rules. In 2022, pickleball was adopted as the official state sport of Washington. The fast-paced sport has many similarities to tennis, badminton, and table tennis. It is played on a level court with short-handed paddles and a hard plastic ball that has holes through it – like a Whiffle ball. The ball is volleyed over a low net by two players in singles competition or by two pairs of players in doubles. The sport can be played either outdoors or indoors. Fun for all ages and easy for beginners to learn, pickleball was named the fastest-growing sport in the U.S. by the Sports and Fitness Industry Association in 2021, 2022 and 2023. “We’re thrilled to be unveiling the first two Pickleball Bobbles on National Pickleball Day,” National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum co-founder and CEO Phil Sklar said. “The bobblehead of Kitchen and the Pickleball Sports Ball Bobble will be must-haves for pickleball players everywhere!” Kitchen wrote, “I’m excited to have this bobblehead that Pickleball players and fans around the world will be able to display and enjoy. I hope it puts a smile on people’s faces just like they have when they see me!”
About the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum: The National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum, which is located at 170 S. 1st St. in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, opened to the public on February 1st, 2019. The HOF and Museum also produces high quality, customized bobbleheads for retail sale as well as organizations, individuals, and teams across the country.

Kris has offered up Coach Nester as our chosen Bobblehead person ! Even offered up some suggestions on what people will do with them !

Davis Reitzel seems to be enjoying his High School 🏫 days on the Hill. Life has a very steady mix of Academics and Sports as Reitzel competes in each of the three seasons for the Cavaliers.
To help with the choice of words – Gifted comes to mind only because our now Senior glides and jumps with the grace of a Deer 🦌. Anyone who is old enough to remember the Die Hard movies 🎥 will remember that Bruce Willis would win over the Bad Guys in the end but would always appear on the Cusp of Death from the battle.
One should not mistake just how hard Reitzel is going at it when he’s running Cross Country, playing Basketball or on the Soccer pitch. Just don’t be expecting him to look less for the wear.

(Davis on the right, next to fellow three Sport Athlete Ethan Richardson).
Reitzel’s roll on the Basketball 🏀 Court this Fall when he laces up the sneakers 👟 for Coach Barnes. Last season the team was lead by Big Man Elijah Cox but this year both Reitzel and Bryce Smoot will look to take their games to another level for the Cavaliers.

But before we get to Basketball 🏀 season Reitzel will compete for Coach Montgomery and the Cross Country team. Their meets are set to begin soon as we near mid-August.
After Basketball Reitzel heads back outdoors to compete for Head Coach Forrest Johnson on the Soccer ⚽️ pitch. The wide open space allows our soon to be Senior turn on his jets, making the trek from one end to the other in a blink of the eye.
Assistant Hoops Coach Kris Richardson is quick to discuss the Academic exploits of Reitzel, especially his Science skills.
It’s my hope to finish the story after hearing from some more folks.
