The Volume of the Run 4 the Roses 🌹 Basketball πŸ€ event is in the Volume! Day Long Live Blog

Carroll County rising Senior Alyssa Ervin is a few hours away from taking the Basketball πŸ€ court with her Virginia Outlaws travel team (10:16am) here in Louisville, Kentucky.

Playing travel Hoops is not an uncommon thing for our Student Athletes these days. Just this past weekend Ethan Richardson was competing in an event down in Charlotte, North Carolina which was his latest stop βœ‹ on his Summer long Loop. The reason that this week long event stands out is the enormity of the festivities.

The number of estimated visitors this week to the Greater Louisville area is right at 80,000. The number of teams competing is 2,700 and the games will be contested across 84 courts here at the Kentucky Exposition Center. 30,000 teenager Girls πŸ‘§ / Young Ladies are here to play Basketball πŸ€.

While we are 403 miles from the Gym back at Carroll County High School 🏫 there are teams that have traveled from 46 of the 50 States as well as 4 Foreign Countries. One could easily get lost in the thought process of an event this large!!

I myself am looking forward to trying to locate Court #38 before the scheduled 10:16 jump ball.

Ed Robtison is the Head Coach of the Outlaws, a Roanoke based team comprised of a dozen Athletes from the Greater Roanoke Valley and I look forward to watching πŸ‘€ him Coach up his team here in a bit. That’s assuming that I can avoid getting lost inside of a building that has to be the size of an Aircraft Carrier.

The clock ⏰ is now under 5:00 as the start of the 10:16 Tip would appear to be right on time!

Today’s first opponent is from New Jersey…

The teams play two 16 minute halves per game.

Outlaws lead 12-9 @ first break

Outlaws trail 41-26 @ Halftime which turns out to be a four minute break. New Jersey connected on a large number of baseline 3-pointers

Game One is in the Books πŸ“š and the Jersey ShoreShots bested the Outlaws by both #1’s put on a show out there for the fans. Not chasing stats today but know that there was Game on Display !
