Mr. Delp reports on Corrie’s Day 1 down in Greensboro, NC

After a very hot, 85 + degree day, Corrie ended up placing 36th in the girls freshman elite 100m with a 13.52.

This was about 3:15pm today after the hottest sun-baked day she’s had so far in her career against the best in her class . She was a bit disappointed but I feel she represented herself well considering.

Earlier in the day (still 85 deg before noon), she ended up placing 13th in the girls freshman elite Long Jump.

Her 1st jump of 3 was her best at 15-4.25. Not as good as her state jump, but 13th in the National field today was remarkable. She gained a lot of good experience and hopefully will return and improve on this in the coming years. Like I told her: state was the cake; today was the icing on the cake. She got a taste of it.

Most of the time when information is sent in to us I break it down and put it inside of a story but this time I felt that Corrie’s Father πŸ‘¨ described the experience well enough that is deserved to be a stand alone update.

Corrie is just scratching the surface in her Track and Field Career and we will look forward to watching πŸ‘€ her continue to grow for over the next three years.
