The End of the Road takes us to Liberty University for the State Track and Field Meet this weekend

Before we take a look at the ones that made it to the High School equivalent of the Promise Land we should salute the 3 near misses from this School year.

Back in the Fall Cindy Edwards had her Volleyball team within one victory of the State Tournament when her Cavaliers fell just short at Tunstall.

Rick Nester and his Softball team reached the doorstep of State before falling to Northside 1-0.

Jabin Talley and Ethan Richardson actually made it to the Elite Eight in 👦 Tennis 🎾 Doubles but unfortunately their sport only acknowledges the Final Four.

Congratulations 👏👏👏 to all of these Student Athletes. It’s fair to add Brayden Smoot to this list as he was on the cusp of qualifying for State Track right up to the final step.

Our swim 🏊‍♂️ team sent a group of dedicated Boys 👦 up to the Pool in Richmond!

Our Wrestlers sent four individuals to the Salem Civic Center for the Class 3 State Meet!

Head Coach Mark Motley took his team of Lady Hoopsters all the way to the Siegal Center on the campus of Virginia Commonwealth University without having to play a meaningful 3rd quarter while bringing home 🏡 a 3rd Team Title in the Schools 🏫 history.

That brings us to Lynchburg one day ahead of Freshman Corrie Delp and two days ahead of Senior Elijah Smith competing with the School colors across their back in their events.

The hope is to try and capture any part of the moment in a manner that will help these two standouts remember their day in the Sun.

Any information gathered from the next 2+ days will go through the hands ✋ of Alan Worrell @ the Carroll News first.

Corrie gets things underway tomorrow afternoon when she runs 🏃‍♂️ in the 100 Meter Dash Time Trials in hopes of reaching the Finals on Saturday afternoon.

Saturday morning 🌄 at approximately 930 both Athletes will competing – Elijah in the Discus and Corrie in the Long Jump.

We will be here until they have completed their efforts !
