Tennis Spotlight 🎾 #4 shines on Mr. Phoenix Baker

Phoenix is one of two Freshman on the team this year and like many of his Cavalier teammates is relatively new to the game of Tennis 🎾.

We asked young Mr. Baker our two part question on what is his favorite part of playing on the CCHS team and who would he invite to play in his dream Doubles Match ?

“Getting involved in Tennis gives me a fun way to get fit.”

As for the foursome……

Serbian Tennis 🎾 Legend Novak Djokovic, Goofy & Donald Trump.

Ladies and Gentlemen I present Mr. Phoenix Baker

Coach DeHaven checks in from the Road ! Cavs fall 3-2 / JV Game back home 🏑 was washed out.

We lost 3-2 in bottom of 7th on walk off sac fly at Glenvar.

Tyler rakes had two hits and Lance Burnett threw 5.1 innings striking out 8.

Thanks as always to Coach for keeping us updated on his Cavaliers every time they compete.

We will see if the JV game was played at Home as the night develops. It was postponed.

Highlanders, Carowinds and Mother πŸ‘© Nature play havoc with Cavalier Land

A Senior Trip on Thursday and a less than encouraging weather forecast from Thursday night through the weekend will force everyone to get creative in regards to facing Glenvar across nine contests.

Boys πŸ‘¦ Varsity and JV Soccer ⚽️ were set for Thursday night but pushed back until Friday and then the Baseball ⚾️ teams went from Friday night to Thursday night πŸŒ™ in hopes of beating the weather. Hopefully we will find out soon enough if they were successful in getting their games played.

Macie Adkins had herself a Night πŸŒ™ in Galax

On a night where the starting Pitcher tossed a No-No and the team scored 24 runs against a trio of pitchers it was going to be hard to point to a spot in the lineup and say this was the key to the offense.

With that stated its worth noting that Macie Adkins had a Trifecta of fives and then a six in her plate appearances.

Adkins wears number 5, batted fifth and went to bat five times last night.

Going through the five at bats –

Top of the First – Single, 2 RBI and took second on the throw and eventually scored.

Top of the Second – Two RBI Double and then a run scored.

Later in the Top of the Second – infield Single with another RBI.

Top of the Fourth – Walked

Top of the Fifth – Bases loaded RBI single that would have driven in a pair any other night πŸŒ™ but by this time Coach was holding everyone to a base at a time. One RBI & One Run scored. Adkins was on deck later in the inning when Galax turned a double play on a line drive.

What does that look like in a box πŸ“¦ score?

The Walk doesn’t count as an official at bat so here we are….
