Tonight on the Hill the boys soccer team was out for revenge on an earlier loss to martinsville early in the season. The cavalier boys lost 1-0 at martinsville on a penalty kick late in the game. Tonight was a different story all the way around with the boys taking home a 5-1 win!!! The scoring was started off in the 2nd minute of the game by Davis Reitzel that was assisted by Alexis Ruiz. The scoring continued when Giovany Hernandez put one in the back of the net after receiving a pass from Marcelo Salgado. Martinsville answered shortly afterwards with a nice strike from one of their seniors that has signed with Lynchburg College. The score stay 2-1 until the 2nd half where the Cavaliers took about 8 mins to strike for their 3rd goal. This goal was once again set up by Marcelo Salgado when he found Alexis Ruiz to put it in the back of the net to go up 3-1. The fourth goal came from Senior Jake Bowman and he was assisted by Giovany Hernandez. Cavaliers finished the scoring in the 72 nd minute when Freshman Giovany Hernandez received a great pass from captain William Burnett. Coach Johnson said that he was so proud of the whole team because they played a complete game. It was so nice to come out with a win against a team that beat us earlier in the season. It was a game that was well coached, played and was a great game from the refs 😉. Beautiful night of soccer on the Hill. Carroll returns to action Friday night against Glenvar if the rain holds off.
