Marion Harris tells us about the Lady 👩 Cavaliers Soccer ⚽️ success !

First photos 📷 come from Tara Smith and Ben Tickle !

The midway point of the season for the Lady Cavalier soccer team ends with a big Three Rivers District win vs Alleghany. A beautiful day for a soccer match even though the ladies had to ride for over 2.5 hours to play it. The scoring started when Natalie Harris found Ashlyn Newman for her 10 th goal of the season. Alleghany tied things up a few minutes later but that was short lived and the last time it was tied. Natalie Harris got her first goal of the night when one of her corner kicks was deflected into the goal to put the Cavs up 2-1. The scoring for the 1st half was capped off when Karmen Smith found Ashlyn Newman to send the cavaliers to halftime with a 3-1 lead.

The 2nd half started off just like the 1st half ended with two straight goals by Ashlyn Newman and both were assisted by Karmen Smith. The next two were scored by Karmen Smith with one of those being assisted by Freshman Callie Harris. The other was unassisted. The score stood at 7-1 and the last two goals were masterpieces put together by our two captains. The 8th goal came when Natalie Harris put a perfect through ball to Ashlyn Newman as she was sprinting from the center back position to tuck it in the side netting. The last goal of the night came when Ashlyn returned the favor to Natalie (10th of the season) to finish the game with the score 9-1. Ashlyn Newman tied two school records, most goals in a game with 5 and the most points in a game with 11. The cavaliers finish the first half of the season at 5-2-1 and have scored 39 goals and have only given up 9. Go Lady Cavs!!!!!

Awesome News from the Great NorthWest !

Tomorrow Marion and I will trade places in regards to trekking up Low Moor and back.

Leading 3-0 after Soccer ⚽️, Cavaliers set to play 8 more tomorrow versus Alleghany

Boys 👦 Tennis 🎾, JV Softball and JV Baseball ⚾️ will be staying at home 🏡 2morrow to face the Mountaineers while the Girls 👧 Tennis 🎾 and the Varsity Diamond 💎 teams will make the 250 mile Loop for their contests.

Both the JV and Varsity Softball teams will be playing double headers (5 innings ) as those teams trade out years of hosting in order to cut ✂️ down on traveling.

Both Tennis 🎾 Matches will begin at 4:30 pm while all others get underway at 5:00.

It will be a challenge to corral eight results being played at a multitude of facilities ( Girls Tennis 🎾 at Clifton Middle School), three up there and three at home 🏡. Toss in a College Baseball ⚾️ game for WVU-T in Ohio that will go along way in deciding whether or not the Golden Bears make the post season Tournament. #ChallangeAccepted
