In a rare midweek showdown Top 5 programs Alabama and Liberty University joined up with Marshall for an exciting double header yesterday afternoon.
Carroll County Alum Sydney Nester added to her already impressive Strike Out total by fanning 8 Crimson Tide batters. Alabama’s potent offense finally broke through in the sixth inning to plate three runs with two of them being earned to win the game 3-1.
Marshall returns to Sun Belt action this weekend when the Herd welcomes James Madison University in for single games on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
