Auburn defeated the Lady π© Cavaliers 11-1 earlier in the season and now led 1-0 heading into the Bottom of the fourth inning.
Faith Clontz reached base on an Auburn error to lead off the inning and Dalton proceeded to have Greene bunt which was executed perfectly for a base hit. Carroll County continued to play Small Ball as Carlie Beamer moved the runners over with a second bunt. Bayleigh Allen laid down a third straight bunt and also beat the throw to first for a single.
Laiken Burnett stepped to the plate and continued her recent tear with her second single of the game which plated Clontz and Greene. One batter later Madison Coleman lined her own 2-run single to push the lead out to 4-1.
Armed with a three run lead Greene returned to the mound and took care of business in posting her second victory in roughly 19 hours.
The Lady Cavaliers will get tomorrow off from a game but will then host Alleghany in a Friday evening Double Header beginning at 5 pm.
