Team #8 of the Springtime 11 – Girls πŸ‘§ Soccer ⚽️ in the Spotlight

While Marion will still provide some photos πŸ“· and a game story later, Monday πŸŒ™ was devoted to the Lady πŸ‘© Cavaliers Soccer ⚽️ program. The team took to the Pitch in a Three Rivers District match up I-81 in Buchanan at James River High School.

The contest was listed as a 6pm start but the reality was the time was set at 7pm after the Abington JV Squad fell 3-0 to the Host Knights.

Throughout the entire first half the Lady πŸ‘© Cavaliers dominated the time of possession and shots on Goal but couldn’t find the back of the net as the two teams played to a scoreless draw. How close did the Cavs get to taking the lead ? One point blank shot bounced away off the post late in the first half. Unofficially the first half time of possession was 75-25% in favor of Carroll County.

The second half started out in the same manner as the first half ended but still the score remained 0-0.

The Cavaliers remained on the attack for the majority of the second half but right as it appeared that regulation would end Nil – Nil James River slid a goal into the net inside the final minute of play for the 1-0 victory.

The team Bus 🚌 pulled in at 6:04 pm and departed at 9:05pm. The Best Guess on arrival time back on the Hill would be shortly after 11pm, pending on when the stop for Food came on the way back.

This group of young Ladies were well Coached and played hard from start to finish on a chili night along way from Home 🏑. On a day that lasted close to 18 hours from Front Door πŸšͺ to Front Door πŸšͺ the team did their School proud and them some.

Marion sent the photo πŸ“· above in after they arrived back home. Tomorrow will allow the team to get prepared for its next match, assuming that they all can get some much needed rest.
