When the Softball team leaves the School on the Hill today here shortly it will begin a whirlwind stretch for the team, the Parents and the Homer’s that will follow them around until Friday night / Saturday morning.
Stop #1 on the Loop takes place today at 5pm in Buchanan (just over 200 miles with the actual miles depending on the Food stop). CCHS (6-0) will face its toughest test to date when it plays James River (8-0,2-0) ahead of the JV game.
Stop #2 will be the short one as Wednesday will be at Home π‘ with the JV hosting Auburn and the Varsity hosting Galax High School. So on both Wednesday and Thursday (practice only) the players, Coaches and Families only have the to and from twice over.
Stop #3 begins on Friday afternoon when the team Bus π leaves out shortly past Noon for the 5:00 Double Header at Alleghany High School π« in Low Moor. 246 mile loop plus Food Stops with Game 2 beginning shortly after the end of Game 1.
Most teams have to make the trips North and Northwest each season but it gets more difficult when the two nights chase each other inside of the same week. I still remember Volleyball π Week in which the team made the Loops back2back.
Plenty of rest is suggested over the next 3 Days and 8 hours for our Road Warriors. When the dust settles the regular season will have crossed the halfway point but at least the longer nights will be behind us. Going to Radford, Floyd County and Pulaski County just doesn’t seem quite so bad when you compare it to Glenvar, James River and Alleghany !
