Last Night’s Girls 👧 Soccer ⚽️ through the Eyes 👀 of Marion Harris

The girls played a very exciting and intense game tonight against Auburn. Auburn was the State Runner Up last year and is a team that is very well coached by the SWVA Rush Director, Adam Richie. He actually has coached a handful of our players sometime during their soccer career. Auburn got on the board 1st when one of their players was taken down right outside the penalty area. On the restart the Auburn player put one in to go up 1-0. The Cavaliers would even things up when Auburn had a misplay in the defensive 3rd of the field and Karmen Smith placed a very nice pass to Ashlyn Newman who then placed a nice shot on frame that beat the Auburn keeper. With the score 1-1 the two teams traded back and worth chances on goal but nothing found the back of the net. Halftime score 1-1!!!

2nd Half was about the same with both teams having chances to put their team in front. Auburn controlled the play more in the 2nd half than the 1st. The Cavaliers defense anchored by the 1st year Keeper Lindsey Gardner and Seniors Natalie Harris and Adrianna Hernandez kept the Cavaliers in the game. The opposing coach even mentioned Lindsey and how well she moves in the box. She played phenomenal and he was very impressed with her. After 80 Minutes of regulation and 10 minutes of overtime the score stayed 1-1 for the Cavaliers 1st tie of the season. The Cavaliers are now 4-1-1 on the season and they become Road Warriors the next 5 games. Next week they start off the road stand with James River where the two teams played a classic last year 6-5 with the Lady Cavaliers coming out with a win.

Tonight was Take #3 of the Coach Nester Environment Experience and we left the Field still talking to each other ! Now with Priceless Photo 📷 !

If you are old enough to remember the ancient TV commercials where two people walking from opposite directions collide and one happens to be holding a Chocolate 🍫 Bar and the other a jar of Penny Butter then you can appreciate the odd combination of a legendary No-nonsense Coach and a Carnival Showman getting together to host a series of High School Softball games.

Coach Nester is in his 39th season of Coaching at Carroll County High School and this season he was looking for a way to amp up the atmosphere at Cavalier Park during his nine regular season Home Dates. Last night 🌙 was our 3rd attempt and once again we both accomplished our Goals.

The Lady 👩 Cavaliers won a Softball game in a fun manner and hopefully some Memories were made in the Crowd. One Memory that I personally will cherish for years to come was the Ceremonial First Pitch that Kamryn Quesinberry’s little Brother tossed in her direction ♥. Priceless was the word I used with the Microphone 🎤 but sadly because I was narrarating the moment I wasn’t able to capture it with my camera.

If someone out there did PLEASE share it with us.

If you attended the game and enjoyed yourself then we are achieving our Recess Penut Butter Cup Goal !

As far as the Game itself I have a Gentlemens Agreement to produce a Game Story for our Friend Alan Worrell over at the Carroll News first. Once he posts it I will then share it with our readers here on the site.

My last thought before writing ✍ said Gamer is how much of a Pleasant Surprise it was to see Lauren Alley getting around on her Crutches – not sure how hard she had to twist Mom’s arm to get to attend but I’m sure that her teammates enjoyed it thoroughly.

Not sure if Coach is the one that had to Penut Butter or the Chocolate Bar but we live to play another ball game!

Tonight’s Omega Foul Ball contest winning # was 26!

If you are the Lucky Fan that has 26 written on the back of your ticket 🎟 you need to take that ticket over to Brandi’s Dad 👨 tomorrow and get yourself your very own Lady Cavaliers Softball Custom T-shirt 👕.

The breakdown on the Foul balls was 9 in the JV game and 17 in the Varsity game, including the one that landed inside the Press Box.
