Wednesday Morning πŸŒ„ Mailbag has some Quality Girls πŸ‘§ Soccer Coverage from Marion with an assist from Mr. Tickle

Tonight the girls soccer program took on the defending 2A state champions in a matchup of of two 4-0 teams. The two teams combine have over 50+ goals and have given up a combined total of 5 goals on the season!!

First half Glenvar scored the first two goals on some good throw ins and some miscues from the Cavaliers. Great teams take advantage of mistakes from others teams and that is how the first two goals were scored. After the 2 goals things settled down and both teams had chances but the 1st year keeper from Carroll Lindsey Gardner played like a seasoned veteran with 12 saves for the game. The Cavaliers right before halftime had a great serious of passes and their shot on goal went off the upright and the rebound was saved by Glenvar to take the game to half with the score 2-0.

2nd half saw Glenvar with many chances on goal but the defense and Gardner kept the ball out for most of the half. Glenvar did score one to make it 3-0. The Cavaliers did not stop fighting and another 1st year Varsity player Callie Harris had her best game of the season at a new position. When you play a program like Glenvar you sometimes have to move players around to use their abilities a little different and Callie stepped up against a team like this. The Lady Cavaliers had some good chances but they were stopped by a good defensive stand by Glenvar.

A person really would need to be at the game to see that the Cavaliers were really a few bounces away from having things tied or it being only 1-0. Overall the Cavaliers stepped up and represented Cavalier Nation against a defending State Champion!!! Next up for the Cavaliers will be Auburn on April 13th at Tommy Thompson Field and kickoff is scheduled for 6.

Thank You to both for your efforts !
