Thursday started with 7 events but now sits at just 5

Updating the Spring schedule will be something that we do a great deal over the coming weeks and today is a great example. There were six events planned and then the Varsity Softball team moved up one day to make it 7. Now two of the contests have been pushed back.

NOT taking place today – Boys Tennis was set to host Galax at 430 but that will not take place. The Boys Varsity Soccer ⚽️ team was set to play at Home at 7pm but that also has been pushed back.

Now for the events that are being played but not as originally scheduled.

The JV Softball team will still be playing at 5pm but their contest will now take place at Stanleytown Elementary School 🏫.

The Varsity Softball team was set to play at Bassett High School 🏫 at 5pm Friday but instead will play there at 5:00 on Thursday due to pending weather.

Three events stayed right where they started –

4:30 – Girls Tennis 🎾 at Felts Park against Galax

5:30 – Boys πŸ‘¦ JV Soccer at Home vs Galax

5:30 – Girls πŸ‘§ Varsity Soccer ⚽️ at Galax.

In total, 2 Soccer ⚽️ Games, 2 Softball Games and 1 Tennis 🎾 match should take place today.

We will do our best to find some results and possibly some pictures πŸ“· from as many of the five as possible.

One final note before I switch Blogs over to WVU-T Baseball ⚾️ Site

Our baseball ⚾️ team has safely arrived at the Minor League park in Charleston, West Virginia and our opening act is currently in the sixth inning of their game. The humorist in me wants to call it the JV game ahead of the night πŸŒ™ cap as we play in Prime Time under the lights.

Two lesser known institutions called Ohio State University and Marshall University. We appreciate them both for being the opening act to our Davis & Elkins vs West Virginia Tech Golden Bears 🐻.

The Carroll County Sports update here is that Coach Nester has successfully moved their Friday away game @ Bassett to Thursday due to a less than encouraging Friday forecast. The JV game will still be played at 5pm as well but will be moved down to the Elementary school .

Thoughts from the Road – We need more Talley !

Mr. Talley – you bring energy and passion to the table and those are two of our favorite things about our efforts here with the Carroll County Sports Report. Any information you have and are willing to share with Marion or myself pass it along, Please.

Not just game day results, you can pass on who had a great practice, which Parent sold the most cookies or showing off any new gear that your team has. To truly jump on board with us it takes passion for your Student Athletes and the ability to have some fun with it. You absolutely check both of those Boxes Sir.

Just like the famous Saturday Night Live skit about Cowbells (I’m aging myself), we need more Talley !
