Knowing that my path would not cross with the Student Athletes of the Spring Track team very often I wanted to dedicate a full day to try and live in their Track shoes π.
That day was today and here’s how it played out- I estimated that the team would have to wake β° up around 6am and get ready for School π«. Then they would attend Morning classes so I matched that by writing β a Tennis story for the Carroll News.
Next up the team would load a School Bus π and head up Highway 100 in the direction of Radford. I had a slight advantage here in that I rode in the comfort of my Car π.
We pulled into the parking lot at the same time and I captured a picture π· of the first person of the Bus.

At the 5 hour mark I was riding high and feeling up to the challenge. The actual competition started just past Noon at five different locations on a less than desirable Weather Day and the first of the 51 events with CCHS (47 Individual, 4 Relay) got underway.

The goal for the event had little to do with results and a great deal about the commitment π from this group. As each hour passed and the weather refused to improve, the Carroll County group continued to just roll with it.

Still feeling up to the task as we reached hour #11 on the day as I continued to search out Cavaliers to get pictures π· of.

It was sometime during the 13th hour that I realized that I was in trouble and the 14th hour would be spent driving π back home.
The amazing thing about giving up after 14 hours was the fact that 10 of the 35 events were still waiting to take place.

I’m left to wonder what time the Bus will make it back to our School π« on the Hill ? If you see one of these young People tomorrow at Schoolπ« give them some props for representing their Team in such a Top Shelf manner !
That’s how tired I am, forgot it was Friday night π so there’s no School tomorrow. Thankfully for our Track squad !
