What do you get when you mix and long time Hall of Fame level Coach with someone that just tries to make people smile ? Last night π we introduced a number of new tweaks that were created just for the purpose of making the night feel more Special.
The photos π· in this group were provided by Paul’s Sister-in-Law as she captured the ceremony for our initial Senior Night π Spotlight.
Lauren Alley was the first of nine because her season will be cut short for a Medical procedure but the remainder of the group will be Celebrated in Numerical order.
Mom and Dad (who tossed a Perfect First Pitch) were joined by Sister Jena and Brother Zac before the start of the game with Lauren behind the plate catching the pitch. Nothing is more Americana then a Father and his Daughter playing a game of catch.
Brandi’s Dad stepped in to be our Foul Ball Contest sponsor and Last Night π the final number was 30 (19- JV, 11- Varsity). The number is created by how many times a foul ball leaves the fenced in field and has to be returned by a fan. The fan is rewarded with Candy from the concession stand and the Talley goes up.
The first 50 fans that purchased a ticket have a number written on the back between 1 and 50 so whoever had 30 last night now gets to go over to Omega where Brandi’s Dad will customize their Carroll County Softball shirt π.
One more new tweak is that we offer the visiting Varsity Coach to send someone with his group to read off their starting lineup so their players can feel appropriated as well. Sadly, last night we didn’t get to kick the tires on that one as Pulaski County didn’t have anyone in mind.
We started shortly before 4pm and capped off the night π by gathering the trash π from the stands and turning out the Lights. Coach led his Ladies to an 11-1 victory which is a measurable result. The other half of our Goal was to create an event that matched the dedication his young Ladies and their Families give everyday. Hopefully we did a little bit of that last night π.
An actual Game story will come here in a bit.
