Down at the Softball field today for the scrimmage between Carroll County and George Wythe and I was fortunate enough to meet one of the Ladies that makes sure the train that is Softball stays on the tracks.
Tammy is the Administrative Assistant at the Middle School and has been the official score keeper for Paul’s Brother for right at a decade now. Her husband is Jeff Tobler, the Assistant Coach of the Cavaliers.
The Toblers aren’t the only Husband and Wife in the program as the Head Coach of the JV team is Alexis Dalton and her husband Lucus is her Assistant. Don’t leave off the
18 hours and counting for the Day but progress is being made !!
Instead of the usual thought process of taking a day and breaking it down into six different stories I’m just going to run it all together.
Let’s start with the lead picture of Alan Worrell of the Carroll News. We are adding Alan to our list of people that we call Friends of the Organization. Right now its a short list but its a vital list. To reach the Goal Line for this project there are several important pieces that we need. Alan’s newspaper is one of those pieces.
Anytime that I see Alan at a game I feel comfortable in the fact that he is going to cover the game in the same Homer fashion that I would. We will never cover the same game as Alan because its counter productive. Knowing that the Cavaliers are going to receive top notch coverage on that night π allows me to research and ask real questions like what did Alyssa Ervin eat for breakfast??? 40 years of being around the game I have never witnessed a High School player master the Euro-Step in the manner Ervin has.
I feel comfortable in saying a season high 37 points but not sure where that number lands on her Career night list. It was in the same Gym at the beginning of the season (vs Pulaski) that the Cavaliers were being tested when she said don’t worry,I’ve got this.
Liberty Christian Academy was making the game more competitive than last time throughout the first quarter and just like that Ervin scored 17 points in the second quarter to push the Halftime lead out to 18 points at 44-26.
The vaunted Team Defense that CCHS plays limited the Bulldogs to a mere 17 second half points. It was the first time in the Calender year that the Cavaliers played a meaningful second quarter and Ervin made sure it wouldn’t carry over to the second half.

THE HAT π TRICK –
Our site is about supporting the efforts of all CCHS Student Athletes, not about bold predictions and causing controversy but around 6am this morning I typed out three thought processes.
#1 – The only way that Carroll County loses the Semi-final game is if the Bus Driver gets lost on the way to the Gym.
#2 – The other Semi-final would be a game of the First One to 45 Wins.
#3 – Meridian was going to be playing Brentsville District for the fourth time in six weeks. Don’t be surprised if they can’t beat a pretty solid team in four straight games that close together.
It was Isaiah Easter that let me know that Meridian had lost by five but I didn’t hear the score until later in the evening. That is the Trifecta of thought process.
Jaelyn Hagee finished tonight’s game with 13 points which by my math has her at 993. Focusing the Live Blog on her efforts was an added bonus.

The Softball team will not be the only team holding a scrimmage game tomorrow.
We will look forward to reading anything that Marion scoops up from the Soccer pitch!
