What the Road to Richmond looks like after Saturday night 🌙

Three down now and Three to Go but let’s focus on the two needed to make it back to Richmond.

Carroll County sits in a foursome now with Lord Botetourt, Spotswood and Liberty Christian Academy. The Cavaliers will have to defeat two of these three teams to reach the Finals and the three teams all have one thing in common – each one has already faced the Cavs this season and came up short by a minimum of 30 points.

With that fact stated here’s what should be noted-

Spotswood is Coached by a legendary leader, Chris Dodson and they have a D-1 front court player. Liberty Christian Academy has the ability to score from three spots on the floor and Lord Botetourt made some impressive adjustments tonight in the 72-42 contest.

Friday night 🌙 at Pulaski High School will be the Quarterfinals game versus Spotswood. The same night will have Liberty Christian Academy hosting Lord Botetourt.

The Cavaliers know first hand the opponents and how to win against them. Another fun note about the three CCHS wins is that the leading scorer was a different player.

Vs Staunton River Kalee Easter 21

Vs. Magna Vista Jaelyn Hagee 18

Vs. Lord Botetourt Lauren Alley 25

No guarantees going forward but there’s one thing for sure, no opposing Coach can say “If we can shut down this one player”. Life is good when you can score from every spot on the floor.

Their Once, Twice , Three times a Lady (Region Champion)

A Thank You to Lionel Richie and the Commodores for the play on their words. Lauren Alley straight up put on a show Saturday evening on the Hill.

Not that the 5’10 Senior was the Lone Ranger as she had plenty of help from her teammates but her effort was over the Top. When you add in the number of inches she was giving away inside it just moves the needle even further.

Alley finished the game against Lord Botetourt with 25 points on 10 Field Goals and 5 of 6 from the free throw line. Amazing in that on three of the 10 buckets it didn’t seem possible that Alley could have possibly known where the basket was and all three fell through the net.

When our paths crossed during the post game celebration Alley assured me that “I always know where the basket is.”

Three Region victories by a combined margin of 137 points (45.667 per) and Game 3 was a 30 point margin against a very talented and well coached team.

Alyssa Ervin added 20 points and was joined in double figures by Jaelyn Hagee (11) and Kalee Easter (10).

Ashton Richardson added 4 points and Curdy Gardner scored 2 points in the 72-42 victory.

4:27pm and the line is forming to get in ! Come on 5pm….Live Blog (Winner gets Spotswood)

It’s 5 O’clock Somewhere !

The crowd has started to fill up the Home half of the Gym and a decent amount of the “Away” side.

It’s 5:05 now and here’s what we know now that we didn’t know before entering the building – the next game will be Friday night with Saturday only coming into play if Weather creates an issue.

With a victory we will host the next game in the Building of our choosing but it can’t be our own Gym. A loss would send us to the Gym of choice of the winner between Spotswood and Liberty Christian Academy (that game is being played in Lynchburg as I type).

Tonight its the Cavaliers versus the Cavaliers and we are now 45 minutes from Tip!

Coach being Coach !

So this happened the other night 🌙 while I was in Tunstall. Belated Congratulations 👏 to Miss Easter
