Diamonds ๐Ÿ’Ž are a Girls Best Friend !

While the Winter sports are in their post season now this coming Monday (2/20) the Cavaliers Softball program is set to begin official outdoor practices ahead of the teams (JV & Varsity) scrimmage games.

The JV are set to travel down to Mt. Airy for their scrimmage on Wednesday February 22nd while the Varsity team will wrap their two scrimmages around their official season opener and second game.

Tuesday 3/14 (@Pulaski)and Friday 3/17 (@Bassett)are the actual regular season games while 3/7 (vs George Wythe) and 3/18 (@Tazewell) are the scrimmages.

Please remember that we are entering the period of those two dreaded words – “Weather Permitting”

Thursday’s Hoopster – #12 Jabin Talley

Jabin Talley is a 5’7 Junior guard and was a delightful participant in our four questions segment.

Thursday’s Inside the Wrestlers Room : Nathaniel “Rambo” Dalton

Rambo to this teammates, this Sophomore wrestles in the 138 Pound weight class. Dalton placed 4th in the Regional event which earns him a trip to the State meet in Salem on Friday.

Nathaniel was pretty to the point with his two part answer –

Favorite Part of Wrestling ? “WINNING”

Inside the Wrestling Room with Senior Tony Lugo

Tony wrestles in the 165 pound weight class and just concluded his Senior season on the Cavaliers team.

We sat down with Tony and asked him a two part question – what is your favorite part of being on the team and what advice would you give a fellow student that was interested in Wrestling at CCHS ?

Tony – “My favorite part of Wrestling is that it mentally makes me feel better.”

Advice – “It’s going to be tough but it will be worth it.”
